Absolutely and the fact that it was the greatest team in the history of college football allows me to have pretty much zero regrets about those years. Miles’ firing paved the way for it. Also helps that we’re back on the uptick with Kelly.

Les loses to TAMU in 2015.

Who do we get.

Do we still win a Natty?

Consider . . . how many times Jarrett Lee bailed out Les in '10. UTenn, UF, and Bama.

Coming into '10 Les had a lot of clock mgmt baggage from '09 (OM, Arky almost, and PSU).

If JL had transferred out Les is canned after '10. Some new coach inherits a grand roster and who knows.

We still lose that game. No way we were driving down that field for a TD. The only thing getting that call right would have done is robbed LSU fans of an excuse.

That was TBob, Jefferson had the other TD on an 80 yard run

Jefferson threw the long pass to Randle

So one, maybe for Lee

2011 Bama was also a grand roster and the greatest coach ever. You can rip Les for the offense in the BCSCG, he deserves that, but that same Bama team only 2 years younger tore apart Tebow and Urban Meyer so I doubt the end result is any different

I'd have to bypass this one as a "college football game-changing moment". I appreciate your opinion on this, but it's not like the "pick" was on Bama's 5 yard line. Odds of LSU scoring even if that would've been called an interception was slim to none. The O had been shut down for awhile at that point. Just my opinion.

Ill-timed S.Martin fumble near alabama goal line in 1987 prevents a win and a 10-0-1 season.

That had nothing to do with that loss. We couldn’t stop Bobby Humphrey, Mickey Guidry was terrible. Hodson didn’t play until it was too late when he proceeded to throw a pick six. If he could have played late, he could have started. No telling what would have happened if he plays the whole game.

If the ref had only blown that play dead for a false start then Benji Thibodeaux would not have been called for grabbing the QB’s face mask back in 1979 and LSU would have beaten the mighty USC Trojans.

Mine would be Saban leaving for the Dolphins

because "Cheap Arse" Bertman wouldn't offer him a substantial enough pay raise to entice him to stay at LSU.

Nobody thinks he could have come close to the Huizenga money, but at least make a substantial offer and effort.

Skip went CHEAP with Saban, just like he did with the new Box.

This is easy and hasn’t been mentioned. 1979 and not USC. Noon game against Florida State and coach Bobby Bowden. The win by FSU convinced Bowden to stay in Tallahassee instead of coming to Baton Rouge.
Bowden in Louisiana would have been a game changer.

He was the qb that drove them up the field on the last drive. Miles' dumbass trots Jefferson out there thinking it's just gonna be an easy qb scramble for game winner and almost blew the game because he had no backup play and had his run heavy crew out there. Against Florida in 2010, Lee threw the game winning TD.

To refresh one's memory. Fans began to question Les after the '08 Malleveto debacle and the '09 clock issues. The '07 natty began to be more and more explained as winning with Saban's players.

2010 UTenn
We were 4 TD favorites vs UTenn and trailing 10-14 before our last possession. 2010 - Final Drive vs UTenn Began on our on 31. JL converted a 3rd and 13 and a 4th and 14 to keep the drive alive. It was handed over to JJ on the 2 yd line.

Note: we scored a TD on our first play from scrimmage and our last. Kind of an oddity but never underestimate Les.

2010 UF
Down 26-29 with 3:15 keft from our own 38. JL to Terrence Toliver FTW. Final minute.

2010 Bama
We were up 24-21but Bama had just scored and had momentum. JJ had played well this game but he got hurt on a 1st down option which we lost 3 yds on. On 2nd down, we gain nothing on a toss-dive. On 3rd and 13 w/ 2:49 on the clock JL-to-Randle for a big gain pretty much clinched it Clutch play by JL.

So again, if JL transfers out before '10, do we win any of these games? And if we drop all three, we finish 7-5 in 2010. Doubt Les survives.

2011 Okie State hypotheticals

If 2011 doesn't happen the way that it did then there's a real chance Les' seat isn't as hot as it was in 2015 and he doesn't get fired a few games into 2016. So O never takes over the interim, so O doesn't get hired, so Billy Bush doesn't get hired, so we never get Joe, and 2019 doesn't happen.
