Just like the BCS. To get an at-large bud in one of the old BCS bowls, I believe you had to be ranked 4 or higher…unless you were ND who only had to be #12.

They really need to stop this "OM has a chance to win a national championship" crap. Them going to the playoffs is equivalent to the Arizona Cardinals at 9-8 landing a wildcard spot. No legitimate chance to actually win it all.

I personally would love this! As a kid in the '80's, I remember Nebraska skull-dragging us in the Sugar Bowl in '84/'86 and losing a heartbreaker in the '82 (season) Orange Bowl. LSU has NEVER beaten Nebraska, so I'd love a shot at this.
