did he chose to kick after the other team deferred? If you chose to kick after winning toss I thought that’s when you chose field and the other team gets ball second half.

LSU won the toss. Bradie says, “we’ll kick”, thereby exercising LSU’s right to choose. When the second half began, the other team got to exercise their right to choose and they chose to receive.

The bottom line is that each team gets the right to choose once. If you win the toss you get to make your choice in the first half; and again, you can choose to kick, receive or defer your choice to the second half. Bradie should have said “we want to defer”, but instead said, “we want to kick”.

I understand. It’s a rather goofy meaningless distinction. That being said, Kelly was ultimately a very mediocre HIRE. Hell, I’d assert Dinardo was a MUCH better one.

I don’t think you do understand. When you say “Kelly was ultimately a very mediocre hire” you’re not understanding that the list is created while ignoring hindsight.

Because he is obligated to find another job per his buyout contract

He is obligated to make good faith efforts to find another job. He is not obligated to actually find one.

Your options when you win the toss are to receive or defer.

Incorrect. Your options when you win the toss are:
1) Kick
2) Receive
3) Defer

Brady James, thinking he was putting us in a position to get the ball to start the second half, chose to “kick”. He obviously should have chosen “defer”.

I attended a game at War Memorial...like God intended. That is Tradition

My condolences. War Memorial is, by far, the worst stadium I have ever visited. The structure, the parking, the seats, the atmosphere and the amenities are atrocious. That stadium is not even suitable for high school football. It needs to be torn down.

Don’t disagree with any of those point and they are the likely reasons for the unequal treatment of Kiffin; however, they are all emotional arguments, not intellectual arguments. Intellectually, no one can argue why Kiffin’s departure is any different than the other two.

This.

More college football is better than less college football. If someone doesn't like the matchup for whatever reason, don't watch.

Who finds a coach first, Penn state or Tulane ?

Um…?

Best? Saban's class that included Marquise Hill and Marcus Spears is hard to beat.

If you take away the results of that class (which were phenomenal) and only judge the two classes on paper, this year’s class is better. Let’s hope they all stay 2 or 3 years and produce as much excitement.

WTF are you talking about?

Years down the road everyone on that team that voted no is gonna think man I’m a total idiot .

You are correct. A Free trip. A bunch of merch and a cool swag bag. A chance to be around your friends in a different town. A chance to continue playing the game you (supposedly) love. A chance to put a trophy in your schools trophy case (no matter how insignificant).

Oh, and a chance to practice for another month as a team so you are better next year.

Baker needs to do what's best for him, just like Kiffin did.

Kiffin's job is to retain good coaches

Both statements are true

Does he not realize that Lane was taking those coaches either way? It was only a matter of when. He didn’t take them out of spite lol

And by the way, they could have said “no”

Well, we can only fill ours to capacity maybe once or twice per year against a huge opponent.

Depends on what you mean by “fill”. If you mean actual people in the seats you may be right. If you mean tickets sold you’re wrong.

And the metric that matters most to the Athletic Department is the latter.

No, bc the thought only exists in your head

I love the potential locked inside Perk’s body, but I don’t know how anybody can downvote the above quote. Perk looked like he was playing flag football this year.

this won’t ever be a problem

I am having the same thought; however, I guess with a 7 year contract (as opposed to 10) it won’t be as crushing financially if we have to fire him after 4 years (and there is zero percent chance we fire Kiffin before 4 years without cause).

You’re an idiot. He’s not leaving Oxford. LMAO!

Am I doing it right?
