I think we absolutely need to see Beloso vs Starting pitching before SEC play

Jay was super high on the guy before last season.

He’s a lefty.

He’s hitting the ball well right now.

Of course he gets in against teams’ 6 relief pitcher but he’s absolutely earned a shot in the starting lineup

I like Morgan in the outfield. He's much better suited to showcase his defensive skills out there. He's a waste at 1st.

I don’t necessarily agree with this. Morgan is elite at 1B. And while he’s made some nice plays in the outfield, some of them were because he made it harder than it had to be.

C-Neal
1B-Morgan
2B-Dugas
SS-Thompson
3B-White
LF-Jobert
CF-Crews
RF-Kling
DH-Jones

I think LF and DH will platoon between (Jobert, Pearson, Jones, and Beloso) the entire season to an extent.

You don't need elite defense at 1st base as much as you do the outfield

This is another reason he needs more reps out there, especially before SEC play.

I like Crews in the 2 hole with Tanks protecting him at 3 and Morgan hitting for a high avg in cleanup.

He’s an elite 1B idk if he’s an Elite Outfielder.

He’s not bad. Better than a few guys we’ve had out there.

He hasn’t done anything to show that he’s an elite outfielder. He’s better than Jobert, but that’s not saying a ton. Maybe he can become elite, but as of now he’s probably just an average outfielder.

Agree.

Pearson is demonstrating the sophomore slump. Jones hasn't shown he's ready for pitching at this level. That Beloso can play 1B may also give us some options.

This with Skenes, Floyd, Shores as our starting pitching. Hurd could work his way into the rotation as well.

1st base has 20 times more opportunities to make plays or screw up than LF. Yeah, LF needs to be pretty good to but defensively 1B is second to only C for number of involvements (touches) in defensive play.

You don’t need elite defense at a spot where the most outs in a game happen?
