re: PFF post-combine mock draft

Lemon getting squeezed. I’ve seen him as high as 6 in some recent mocks. Must’ve really bombed in Indy. Let’s hope he slides well into round 2.
A lot of GM’s moved Terrell Suggs way down their list because he ran a bad 40 time. How did that work out?
Both teams rushing the hell out of the passer and you’re talking about a RB?

Tyson would be a “I hope I’m wrong” pick if they made it. I’d pass on him due to injury history. We already have a dynamic but injury prone receiver.
Coming around to Love. His vision and elusiveness is ridiculous. He would open up a lot for the offense.
He’s nothing like Shaheed as a player. Shaheeds game is big plays and speed. Polks game is intermediate routes and contested catches. A potentially valuable asset but a different player altogether. Let’s hope Polk can build a stick moving connection with Shough.

Slightly better than lose Payton and promote Allen, but not much.

We have a lot of needs, hard to be conclusive about which most important and FA will determine a lot of draft strategy. That said, to categorize my 1.8 thoughts.

Please please yes: Reese, Bain, Bailey, Love

I’m good with it: Tate, Downs, Delane, McCoy, Lemon

Hope I”m wrong: Tyson

Meh: Fano, Mauigoa, Styles, Sadiq

Please please no: Woods, Faulk

Really like Tanner Koziol. Reminds me of Cade Otton.
Like that Ole Miss TE mid rounds

re: Sarratt and Becker are STUDS

Vele seems more like a Michael Thomas possession guy. Slants and comebacks and high balls. Think we need a crafty open in the zone / YAC guy like Lemon (not for his draft capital) or Bernard. Maybe Sarratt that guy too.
Reminds me of Hines Ward. A bit bigger and he plays outside for Indiana but gonna make his money finding open space, making tough catches, blocking.
Really like Sarratt but think 40 might be early.

Edit: maybe not
Feel like the top tier running back selection is always a failure when it’s done by a depleted team. It’s that second team with a stronger roster that puts them over the top. Look at Henry and Barkley as recent examples.

Mickey is MO is to add pieces in free agency so that we’re not forced to draft position. It’s one of the reasons why we end up with head scratcher “ best player available” picks rather than just saying that we need a cornerback and drafting one early early, for example. I’d love a splashy IOL free agent so our first few picks can go defense or offensive playmaker

And Terrell Suggs ran a slow 40

Bain is going to be an NFL stud

Faulk worries me. Having done no research, superficially he comes off as a "prototype" edge who hasn't produced

Agree. Give me the dude getting nitpicked by experts while blowing up offensive backfields. I remember when Terrell Suggs was too small and ran a bad 40. We took Johnathan Sullivan five picks before him.

He had a four or five game stretch midseason where he didn’t put up much stats. I watched Florida State and a good part of Louisville and remember wondering what the hype was all about. Truthfully, it could’ve been scheme or mild injury. But these last two games seem like a different motor and desire compared to the others that I watched.

Bain is clearly a guy that takes stretches off, but when the spotlight is on, he can turn it on like a switch. I think that’s the risk you take with him. Not sure if it’s a matter of maturity or motivation or leadership holding him accountable. But in the playoffs, he has been possessed, and he has wrecked shite. If he gave the same effort through the middle of the season, he’d be a no doubt top five guy.

Yea but Omarion, Judkins, and TreVeon were all as special as Jeanty or within striking distance.

Id rather Bailey Bain or Downs in 1st and Loves backfield mate in second.
