re: Sarratt and Becker are STUDS

Vele seems more like a Michael Thomas possession guy. Slants and comebacks and high balls. Think we need a crafty open in the zone / YAC guy like Lemon (not for his draft capital) or Bernard. Maybe Sarratt that guy too.

Reminds me of Hines Ward. A bit bigger and he plays outside for Indiana but gonna make his money finding open space, making tough catches, blocking.

Really like Sarratt but think 40 might be early.
Edit: maybe not

Feel like the top tier running back selection is always a failure when it’s done by a depleted team. It’s that second team with a stronger roster that puts them over the top. Look at Henry and Barkley as recent examples.

Mickey is MO is to add pieces in free agency so that we’re not forced to draft position. It’s one of the reasons why we end up with head scratcher “ best player available” picks rather than just saying that we need a cornerback and drafting one early early, for example. I’d love a splashy IOL free agent so our first few picks can go defense or offensive playmaker

Agree. Give me the dude getting nitpicked by experts while blowing up offensive backfields. I remember when Terrell Suggs was too small and ran a bad 40. We took Johnathan Sullivan five picks before him.
He had a four or five game stretch midseason where he didn’t put up much stats. I watched Florida State and a good part of Louisville and remember wondering what the hype was all about. Truthfully, it could’ve been scheme or mild injury. But these last two games seem like a different motor and desire compared to the others that I watched.
Bain is clearly a guy that takes stretches off, but when the spotlight is on, he can turn it on like a switch. I think that’s the risk you take with him. Not sure if it’s a matter of maturity or motivation or leadership holding him accountable. But in the playoffs, he has been possessed, and he has wrecked shite. If he gave the same effort through the middle of the season, he’d be a no doubt top five guy.

Yea but Omarion, Judkins, and TreVeon were all as special as Jeanty or within striking distance.
Id rather Bailey Bain or Downs in 1st and Loves backfield mate in second.

Olave and Vele have injury concerns.
Then you definitely don’t spend #8 on another WR with injury concerns…
We already have a soft oft injured #1 WR, why would we need another?
Bain Bailey or Downs please. I don’t care which.

RB group is loaded. Any of those top 6 could have a role here at the right price.
Hope we can pick one of them up and don’t overextend in the draft.

We don’t have a ton of picks and plenty of long term holes
We have 8 picks in a 7 round draft and all of our rookies from last year are either on active roster or top of the practice squad list. We don’t need more picks. We need to find 4-5 guys for active roster with hopefully a couple of them solid starters with upside. Expecting 2017 or 2025 is unrealistic.

Bailey, Downs, or Bain round 1
Neither of the WRs are clearcut 1s and there’s good depth in the class to find help later on.

Saints are the only team with a QB. I like our chance to string a few division championships together.

Yall need to realize that in most cases it’s not the kids running the show anymore.
It’s slimy agents who have zero school loyalty or friendships they’ve developed at camps over the years or perspectives on NFL development upside or thoughts on what type of offense would be fun to play in.
Everyone’s had advisors in the past, but now that this money printing factory is legal, it’s shady agent uncle on steroids, greed distilled that’s quickly replacing the spirit and local loyalty and relationships that hallmarked the last 75 years of college football.
It sucks. We’re all going to watch it still, but I must admit that I haven’t felt as great about the wins or as bad about the losses the last couple years. Something’s missing.

Please don’t issue that challenge to Mickey. If there’s a DE or OT with no production but superhero measurables out there that nobody’s expecting on Day 1, Mickey will find him.
Outside of that scary possibility, I agree. We should get a great player in a position of need, especially if the QBs go.

Bain was dominant. Best player tonight. We’d be lucky to get him. Hopefully there’s a run on QBs and WRs and he slips.
Downs wouldn’t be a terrible consolation prize. Could be the thumper to Sanker’s ranger.
OT Mauliuga was great too. He’s a pro bowl guard some day. Early or mid teens he’s a steal.
Really unimpressed with the OSU LBs. Theyre fast and athletic but play a softer finesse game. Got run over tonight. They probably project well to NFL but not sure if they’re dog enough.

Sorry Les, gotta disagree. Think he’s a top 15 lock. JSN, Nacua, Egbuka, St Brown have shown the way. All 4.5 guys with elite balance separation hands. Lemon is of similar cloth.
Here’s some of Ward’s math… 59% completion rate and a 3-13 record. Give me Shough every day of the week.
