Not being able to name a few things just because you have sour grapes? Cool i guess.

He left the program a little better than where he found it

Well he went out and got JD and stuck with him. I’d say he did a decent job getting the program back on its feet and building the talent level up. I still maintain that we wouldn’t be talking about any of this if he could have given us just above average play at the QB position in 2025. Making the decision to hand the keys to Nuss and ride with him destroyed the season.

He did some very good things in his first two years and brought back LSU back from the ashes. His third year was a disappointment, and he failed in year four. I was a supporter of Kelly, but he needed to be let go. He has not been good in selecting assistant coaches, and I think he could not handle the pressures anymore.
The people on here who said things like Kelly was not a good coach at Notre Dame are obviously wrong. Lou Holtz's last two years were not good ( ND had stopped allowing him to recruit 5 players per year who could not meet ND admissions standards which is why ND told Holtz he could not have Randy Moss), and the next three coaches (Davis, Whittingham, and Weiss) were terrible. Has the game passed him by? Perhaps so. Anyway, I enjoyed Jayden Daniels and the big wins at Tiger Stadium over Bama and last year's win over Ole Miss.

Barring recruits transferring, we have one of the most talented rosters in college football. Much different than 4 years ago.

I hate him but the program is in a good place besides asinine coaching

And then proceeded to give him 1 carry in the 2nd half after Berry was running all over them in the 1st half. Sealed his fate right there.

That wouldn't have been hard. Orgeron turned out to be a real doofus.

JD5’s Heisman was mostly him improv-ing and 2 NFL WRs. Don’t give Kelly that credit

Fossils don’t get credit either. He’s not a dual threat whisperer at all

No. We have players & talent. He didn’t have that when he took over. Hell, he LITERALLY didn’t have a QB on the team.

Kelly, on some level, did exactly what we needed to do.

5-5 and 6-7 with a depleted roster.

He beat Bama, won the west, recruited well, and left the next coach in a much better spot.

And he screwed up even JD5’s Heisman because if we had an average defense at best we would have had a NC that year.
