don’t know whether or not O pushed Aranda ,but I do know Woodward forced pelini on him and blatantly sabataged his program. He went against O on a few hires and ED had to hire guys he didn’t want.Thats one of the reasons thing fell apart,Woodward wanted his own man.

Just to be clear you’re saying a coach fresh off a national title didn’t have say so in his DC hire?

Sounds like some revisionist bs to lessen coach Os responsibility for the wheels falling off so quick.

The 2019 defense was bad? I could’ve sworn that team won a CFBNC. Maybe I’m mistaken and it was some other greatest CFB team of all time.

The only way Aranda comes back is as an assistant to Cris Kiffin, as CK is the next DC. Aka, this Aranda talk is nonsense.

I’m not sure Baker leaves after this year. SC east may be the only opening in SEC. Maybe a few in Big12. If he was going mid major he had the chance at Tulane, his Alma mater, last year.

Ed O was pushing him out the door. Everyone knows it.

Ed O is why he wanted to leave in the first place. Ed O wanted a 4-3, didn't like Aranda's defense. Aranda was a Les Miles hire.

I do remember O taking not so veiled shots at Aranda after he was gone and pimping the 4-3 as his defense. I had no info there was bad blood but I would not be surprised if there was based on some of the comments O made after Aranda was gone.

I remember sitting in the dome after the Championship game, and listening to Coach O give praise to some coaches by name, but did not mention Aranda. Somehow someway the camera man was putting a head shot on Aranda at that exact time, and he looked toward Coach O angry. That was the moment I knew he was leaving us.

On another note, is it time to fire up the World Famous Coaching Changes Board?

He may have to be a defensive coordinator.

I know it doesn't stroke the ego well, but some guys just aren't head coach material and are superior coordinators. The ones that accept that usually have solid and positive careers.

Baker is most likely either going to be fired or hired as a head coach, depending on how the season ends for LSU. Aranda would come back in a heartbeat and I would be willing to take him. His defense was always good.

Aranda should be an NFL DC.

Aranda isn't built for this era of CFB. His scheme is relatively complex and is going to be very difficult to execute effectively when you turn over 50%+ of your defensive personnel every season with most of your backups being freshman (because every half decent sophomore and junior who isn't starting leaves).

Aranda runs a 3-4 defense and always has. We just got done recruiting a great D line class for the 4-3. D Line in 3-4 have totally different jobs that 4-3. It took Dave 2-3 years to really get the D he wanted. We aren’t going to ask Duce and Lamar to become a gap stuffer.

Ed O wasn't in charge when he was the HC. Dude cant even manage his own house, much less a football team.

Start oi 2019, yes. He turned it around during the season.

That defense was never bad. They got sloppy because they had a point per minute offense that gave them the luxury of being sloppy. But except for some Stingley brain farts they controlled Bama, and they closed out the year with great performances against Aggie, Arkansas, Georgia, Oklahoma and Clemson.
