Overall, the historic 2019 roster generated 14 total draft picks in 2020 (tying an all-time record at the time) and over 20+ starters from that team eventually found homes on NFL rosters.
K'Lavon Chaisson (OLB) — 1st Round, No. 20 overall (Jacksonville Jaguars)
Patrick Queen (LB) — 1st Round, No. 28 overall (Baltimore Ravens)
Grant Delpit (S) — 2nd Round, No. 44 overall (Cleveland Browns)
Kristian Fulton (CB) — 2nd Round, No. 61 overall (Tennessee Titans)
Jacob Phillips (LB) — 3rd Round, No. 97 overall (Cleveland Browns)
That's a measure of talent, rather than success as a unit.
Aranda's 2019 defense ranked 31st in total defense and 32nd in scoring defense. Not terrible, but not amazing either. Our offense was the best ever thankfully. And I think if you look at the D just for the 2nd half of the season, they would rank top 10.

aranda never gave a shite about yards aka total defense rankings. he cared about PPG. most his teams PPg was ranked in the top 10. kevin steele at auburn has similar PPG rankings.
both played a more bend but dont break d.

It's problem was the offense played too fast and the D tired be of it. By end of season, the D was most certainly formidable. Go review the number of defensive players picked early in the NFL.

Ed O was pushing him out the door. Everyone knows it.
Clue us in. Who hired Pellini? Ed said, "I never interviewed him".
That sums it up.

Just to be clear you’re saying a coach fresh off a national title didn’t have say so in his DC hire?
Sounds like some revisionist bs to lessen coach Os responsibility for the wheels falling off so quick.
Orgeron, at one of his Press Conferences after Bo was hired, was asked what about Pellini, appealed to him. His answer, "I never interviewed him".
I suppose Orgeron hired Kelly as well.
A National Championship AD, the best he could do was Kelly?
