I know how dumb some LSU fans can be to opposing fans after 6+ hours of drinking. Saw it firsthand against Clemson, and did we really have beef with Clemson?

Most Ole Miss fans will be great and hospitable. There will also be plenty there who will drink for 6+ hours on top of their overemotional state right now. Yes, he should be fine, but I still wouldn't trust the general public in the grove to not have some bad apples looking for a fight.

Other general advice is to find some fella tigers. Strength in #s

Skip the grove.. its overrated. We has a great time setting up a tailgate outside the grove but still on campus.. where you can actually drink, have open flames and music

Don't listen to them. If you're planning on drinking and being an arse, then yes, you are going to get all the trouble you ask for. If you have a 12 year old with you, are respectful, and don't respond when antagonized, you'll be fine. Some people will likely yell mean things, nothing a 12 year old hasn't already heard. Just be an adult and ignore it and go enjoy the game.

Normally I'd agree with you for every other road game we ever play. However, this game isn't the same. I'm not sure you understand how much hate and vitriol those fans have for LSU and LSU fans.

Why even take that chance with your 12 year old? All it takes is one drunken idiot, of which Ole Miss has many, to ruin the whole night. The kid probably won't enjoy himself considering the environment they'll be walking into.

You realize this is an apples to car tire analogy, right?

Never been treated worse and I've been to SEC campuses across the league.

Gainesville didn't exactly roll out the red carpet but Ole Miss fans took it to another level

You have the.older fans would already hate our guts from the 60s/70s rivalry then the whole Kiffin saga has poured gasoline to that hatred.

Trashy.

Regardless, this isn't even close to the same environment.

As I said, they'll probably be ok, but why even risk it. If they're looking for an adrenaline rush, go skydiving or something.

Sure, but that's when you be the responsible adult with your kid and you ignore them and walk away.

The chances of an Ole Miss fan chasing you and your kid to start a fight without being provoked are incredibly slim.

I've been several times. You should be fine if you're not being an a-hole. I would skip the grove this time.

Wanted to add that there's a shuttle from Oxford High School to the stadium/campus.

This is where im at too baw

Whats the upside for making this trip?

We either lose a close one, and get harassed or worse the whole way to the car.

Win a close one.. which would have their fans seething, looking for a fight.

Or we blow them out, their fans leave early but go back to the tailgate to drink. good luck getting out of their in 1 piece

With the amount of vitriol coming from that fanbase right now, the odds are still slim but as good as they'll ever be.

I am going to be in Oxford as well.

I wasn't nervous, but this thread has me questioning myself. I just assumed it I kept it cordial and respectful and laughed off the "F*** yourself and LSU" then I would be fine.

As ugly as it might be, I think they won't mess with a father and son duo.....this is coming from a momma bear. Profanity will definitely be in abundance!
