FWIW, the Ole Miss 247 guy just posted that LSU is pursuing Lane and is their number 1 target. (Also noted Drink and Brohm as targets)
Their board is currently melting. They know we can take him if we want to. Timing is weird, but we can probably make it work with Austin Thomas.

I think you’ll start hearing things over these next week or two. Ole Miss has a bye week next week, so we’ll see if anything comes of that.

Really interesting presser. I think it really bothers Lane that Ole Miss has 0 tradition, from the trophy case to the stadium. And in his heart of hearts, he knows he will never win a championship at Ole Miss. It's simply too much violatility year to year whereas at a "blue blood" where you could get kids simply because of the name on the jersey if all other things ($) are equal.

I think he thought he would be able to get another job pretty easily. Now, that he sees that's not a viable option, he wants that full buyout.

Guys, we can't even decide on a fricking AD. We do not have a coach. Not even close. I doubt that we are any further in the process than just gauging interest from guys.

It's why I think Verge got the job. I think he has someone on the hook for the job. I originally thought Saban, but maybe it's Freeman. Hell, he sent his boys to play for the guy.
