I’m 100% with Lane. But what cost us tonight was him not being Lane and being conservative. He will learn from it and I believe he will bring a championship to LSU but he has to be himself.

Loaded roster

This roster is far from loaded. It’s top heavy and currently missing 3 of those starters.

You people need to pay more attention to what’s actually being said. Kiffin himself has said for months that this roster has good pieces, but zero depth.

The whole team needs at least a 30% NIL paycut for this trash. Only 3-4 players are worth their weight right now.

I agree and when the situation came up I’m thinking he’s making the decision based on trusting his coach which is correct but if he knew Baker like I do he wouldn’t make that decision.

I get that.

But this is where superior coaching ought to be making a difference. Hopefully, Kiffin learns from his mistakes. Not sure what to do with Baker. IMO, he's an avg DC.

I agree with this. We've already seen a MASSIVE improvement offensively and this is with injuries and a lot of mediocrity on this offense. I'm sorry but some of these guys are the definition of "system player" and Kiffin is just really good at scheming.

I doubt we see Kiffin try to lean on the defense again.

Our guards aren’t good and our TE who’s an AA and a freak is out. It’s hurting the run game and hurting our QBs transition to this offense. IMO they are going to have to run Leavitt more. The only way to offset the Oline issues is to have a threat of the QB pulling it and attacking the backside. If he gets hurt so be it. The season is hanging by a thread anyway.

I mean the defense had just bailed out the Leavitt turnover with a big stop and had been pretty good in the second half so I get what Lane was thinking but he’s gotta be the aggressive guy he is. Never let the other team have the ball late if you can help it.

Baker was very good until we punted. Then we played conservative which was a huge mistake. Be aggressive and make them earn it. Hopefully Lane and Baker learn from their mistake and we’ll be better for it.

How exactly do you know Baker better than Lane?

I've heard a lot of takes but this is retarded

Ehhh, like I said earlier in a thread, we all have to lose. Kiffin especially. He will get this program going, he already has

He said he almost didn’t go for it when they popped the pass to Harris against aTm. He had to catch himself and say “we don’t punt here” and went for it.

He’s obviously coaching a little more conservatively, and he needs to fricking quit it.

With Baker it’s not a question of can he do it. He can but in pressure spots he reverts to being passive and I’m sorry but no great defense has ever been passive.

Do you know how to read? I said “I was thinking”. He obviously trusts Baker more than I would. That mistake played out for you to see tonight. I’m correct, it makes no difference whether Lane “knows” him better than I do.

My point still stands. Whether you "thought" or not, you don't know Baker better than Lane, I'm sorry.

Why does he get a pass??? We paid for the second most expensive roster to get anyone we wanted in the portal. We have the most expensive coaching staff in the country. It’s a different era. Ppl say it’s okay year 1. No it’s not. This loss is not acceptable imo. What has Kiffin done so far to prove his worth? You know who was worse last year than lsu? UCLA. They are probably making the playoffs now with their new coach. You know who won the nc last year? Indiana. Kiffin is certainly a good/smart coach but he overthinks situations often and frankly has yet to win anything of merit. I still have doubts Kiffin will get us consistently to the level of uga bama every year that ppl assume. He has yet to prove it. If anything this year actually reinforces those that say negative things about him.
