Sunshine pumpers come on in…

Here I am at the top of the hill. Haven’t and won’t be knocked off.
We have 25 pledges as of today. Yesterday 50% are three star recruits and predominantly from Louisiana. I have no idea how many we can’t take this year but normally 23-26 is what we normally took in the past. If we flip a couple more and have a surprise or two we may improve our secondary’s talent level for recruitment. But we still are sucking hind tit for the defensive front. Even one 3-4* is not a noticeable improvement. We have DE/edge recruits and one more does help. That being said DT/NT is a really glaring weakness. Say we flip one good one and have a surprise two or three star and one from Juco. That puts us say over thirty. Which Louisiana prospect gets processed and how many? How does that impact us at the schools they come from?
The reason I am not happy about accepting every pledge that knocks on the door has to do with damaging future relationships or even possible flips looking at numbers at their position. I’m not anti 2 or 3*, I’m not bashing kids. I’m just realistically analyzing the data and film

Enjoy the downvotes. You can take a lot of players in one class… You’re doing A LOT of speculating. If the class finishes off like we hope, it’ll be a good one. And 2025 is already off to a strong start. This isn’t your job so maybe just enjoy it a bit and relax.

You honestly think LSU is taking guys they don’t think can make it here? We can take however many we want, there is no hard cap 25 limit anymore. We will build back up to the 85 man limit.

This happens every year and in multiple programs including Alabama and Georgia. It is just the way this works. It happened here under Saban, Miles, and Orgeron. Kids get processed at competitive P5 programs. If it isn't ever happening you are probably not recruiting at a high level. For most of these kids, it is better if this happens before signing day so they can take advantage of other offers they have. A UL Lafayette or Tulane likely has open slots every year.

The 3 star guys that LSU has taken are all players that are in positions of need (DT/DE/CB) and/or are players that the staff are very high on and have been takes the entire time. Additionally, all of the 3 star players that are committed had offers and interest from other SEC and P5 schools.
I also don't think they have to process anybody based on the numbers working out.
