I think I’m going to just go with coaches on this one being no one’s even said what the shite was ever about to begin with. Other than a lot of speculation from butthurt fans and I get it.
But this guy is a game changer in every sense of the word. A nightmare mismatch for any defense. If Peetz and co think they can reel him back in and the team accepts him back, then I damn sure accept him back.
They just need to make sure that his mind’s right.

I wish he would.
People on a forum should be irrelevant to his personal decision.
He is a beast and I would gladly welcome him back.
Of course the team is most important, but I'd love to see him be a part of it here.

This board is extremely bipolar. It is embarrassing how this board has acted in regards to this entire Arik situation. I have not seen our fan base turn on a kid harder than I saw with Gilbert. With the quitter soft etc. And then we get news that he could potentially come back and all sudden the board is like he is a beast we need him etc. It’s incredible.

LSU is a much better team with him on the field. I wish people would stop being so harsh on these kids. If you must be angry, and have a need to blame someone, then blame the NCAA for opening up this pandora's box otherwise known as the transfer portal.
Whether he stays here or not, I wish him all the success in the world, and thank him for his contribution to LSU.
Some of y'all act like a spurned woman, its kind of pathetic.

His contribution to LSU? Really reaching hard for him. His contribution is to take a dream situation and shite on it. He's not smart enough to be in college. Bye.

Also note that Clemson has already told him thanks but no thanks when he reached out to them, so his options to go to a big time program may be very limited. We may end up by far the best option at the end of all this.
The kid obviously does not want to be here. For frick’s sake. Let him go.

I know we would take him back if he wants back in bc he's that talented, but damn, you have to make him earn it at this point and see how serious he is and check his chest out. Have to see how bad he wants to be a tiger at this point.
Idk how reliable of a source this fricktard is either. Im not putting much stock into this. If it happens, great, if not, that's cool too. Our program doesn't revolve around arik gilbert and Im sure the way we closed the season out without him proved that to him.

He's a solid talent. Maybe he's just one of those kids who takes a little longer to get his head on straight.
Work it all out and come back, AG. There's a title in it for you.

he somehow misses Kayshon Boutte in his rundown of outstanding freshmen
If he didn't hear about a freshman going off for three straight 100 yard games, including a THREE HUNDRED yard game, then he must not be much of a college football fan. Kind of makes you wonder why he writes columns about it.
I could make a comment about "if he played for" (you know who), he'd be the talk of CFB going into next year, but I won't.
... Alabama sucks.

Everyone who was saying this shite is an embarrassment and not a real fan. Bunch of grown arse men whining and crying and bitching and moaning about what an 18 year old is doing. The level of butthurt was truly embarrassing. Everyone who is/was shitting on him is a massive fricking loser. Same goes for Chase.

At this point I'm beginning to think the transfer portal story is a cover up for why he's not with the team. Of the three teams that we've heard about being a threat, only Georgia makes any real sense and if he was gonna go there why hasn't he? That's where he's from. They have a staff in place. He knows who the qb is gonna be. There is literally 0 reason for him to still be here unless the transfer portal thing is a cover up for him getting suspended.

Does each conference have to ok transfers within the conference or does the NCAA waiver take precedence in allowing it? Thought I heard/read that the SEC office had not ok’d intra-conference transfers as of yet. Or until it benefits BAMA!!

You and your ridiculous high horse. If Gilbert doesn’t want to be here, let move on and find another landing spot. I don’t need to “let go” of shite. Neither I or any other fan has any hold on him.
There’s a reason there so much smoke out there in the recruiting world about Gilbert. His people are talking to other teams and the SEC and either they or people with these teams are leaking shite to the guys like Farrell. People are following the story because it keeps changing.
I’ve never said Gilbert would return. But I’ve said for over a month that the SEC’s ruling on how one-time waiver will be handled between conference teams would play a role in his decision. Well, the rumors right now line up with that being true. Add in the fact that one non-SEC power program is on record telling him no thanks, and you have an interesting situation.
Gilbert may go somewhere else like Ohio St. He could transfer to Bama or UF an sit out a year. Or maybe Peetz makes an impression and he stays. I’m not predicting that or that wrapped up in him staying. I think it would help the offense IF he isn’t a distraction going forward, but we can’t know that he won’t be. I’m not going to be all that bothered if he leaves.
With all its twists and turns, Gilbert is interesting to talk about the same way that Zach Evans was last year. However it ends up, he’s breaking a lot of norms with transferring, so people are paying attention. If you don’t get that, then why are you bothering to spend time in this thread?
