re: Eric Henderson expected to be hired by Washington Commanders (Jahkeem Stewart Related)

What has jahkeem Stewart done in college for us to keep talking about him ?
Uh... he put up 7.5 TFL in only 11g (and limited snaps in those games) as a true freshman iDL, even after reclassifying up a year?
For comparison, LSU hasn't had an iDL - of any age or class - record 7.5 TFL in a single season since 2021.
Like it or not, Stewart seems by all reasonable measures to be well on his way to being a legit stud.

He does have to keep it on down low, though, because as you stated, Cane's does endorsements with 100s of teams.
Do you think that those other programs/schools aren’t aware that he’s more involved with LSU—you know, the school 100 feet from where cane’s started and a couple hundred yards from TG’s house—than with the other schools?
You think this is super secret knowledge that you and everyone else on this board is aware of but that they’ve gone people signing million-dollar deals with him are oblivious to?

Go check and see how long those boys been playing together and get back to me.
I mean... Indiana had 7 starters, 1 rotatational EDGE (who basically split snaps evenly with the starter), and 2 rotational iDL who transferred in this year, plus a RB who appeared to be in a relatively even timeshare before going out for the season in week 3 and a WR who was a presumptive starter before tearing his ACL in spring camp.
Here are some stats from IU's 2025 transfers:
- QB: 3535 pass yds / 41 pass TD / Heisman winner
- RB: 1120 rush yds / 7 TD
- DE: 38 tot tackles / 19.0 TFL (led conference) / 5.5 sacks
- S: 88 tot tackles / 6 INT (led conference)
- C: 16 starts / 1027 snaps / 0 sacks allowed / 2 penalties / 2nd-team All-B1G / Rose Bowl MVP
- Nickel: 59 tot tackles / 6.0 TFL / 2 INT
- EDGE (in 7g): 27 tot tackles / 8.0 TFL / 2.5 sacks
- TE: 32 catches / 387 rec yds / 4 TD
- rotational iDLs (two guys, 7 combined starts): 44 tot tackles / 9.0 TFL / 1.5 sacks
LSU, if we do indeed add both Seaton and Princewill, will be in the same general ballpark. The only real reason we're likely to exceed IU's number of starters is because we have to replace a full complement of starting WRs.

Almost like I addressed that in the post. Some people. I can make it easy to understand, but I can’t understand it for you.
How is it even possible that you interpreted my post as being confused by your connection of kiffin’s post to seaton and Princewill (or as being confused by anything else in your post, for that matter)? I’m not confused at all - quite the opposite, in fact.
I was disagreeing with your suggestion that you were reading “multiple layers deep” by interpretating kiffin’s tweet as pertaining to seaton and Princewill. Your interpretation doesn’t require reading multiple layers deep into anything - it’s the very clear point of the post and doesn’t require any sort of deep or conspiratorially minded analysis to suss out.

Hankton was not a bad recruiter
At least if you judge him based on results, Hankton was a terrible recruiter lol.
In his very first LSU class (which in all fairness was not recruited until late in the cycle), here are the WRs we signed: Landon Ibieta (3*, unranked)
In his first full cycle (2023), here are the WRs we signed: Jalen Brown (4*, #91 overall, #14 WR), Shelton Sampson (4*, #140 overall, #21 WR), Kyle Parker (4*, unranked overall, #53 WR).
In 2024, here are the WRs we signed: Kylan Billiot (4*, #64 overall, #13 WR), Jelani Watkins (4*, #122 overall, #23 WR), michael turner (4*, #229 overall, would've been WR #37 had he been listed as a WR)
In 2025, here are the WRs we signed: Taron Francis (4*, #183 overall, #20 WR), Phillip Wright (4*, unranked overall, #37 WR)
In 2026, here are the WRs who were committed at the time the BK firing was announced: Kenny Darby (4*, #203 overall, #27 WR), Jabari Mack (4*, #234 overall, #31 WR).
If you count the 2026 commitments as a class, that's 4.5 recruiting cycles' worth of WR recruiting under hankton. Those 4.5 cycles netted:
--11 total WRs (2.25 per year)
--0 5-stars / 10 4-stars / 1 3-star
--0 guys in the top 50 overall / 2 guys in the top 100 overall / 5 guys in the top 200 overall
--0 top-10 WRs / 3 top-20 WRs (one of whom was literally #20)
That's right: In his entire tenure, Hankton landed a grand total of THREE WRs ranked in the top 20 of their respective classes. He inherited Nabers and BTJ and that's basically all he did.

I mean it's really not “reading multiple layers deep” lol we're very publicly involved in the recruitment of two "blindside" players, and both of those players are viewed as likely to announce decisions today. It is hardly corkboard-and-string stuff to suggest that that’s what kiffin is referring to with the hashtag “BlindsideDay”.

1000% false. Leavitt has 2Y if he wants them
Also there's Huson Longstreet--which is kind of a pretty big deal in terms of building for the future!
If we were 100% dead set on going 2026 or bust, and weren't concerned at all about 2027 and beyond, there's no way we'd have spent such a big chunk of cash on a guy who, if everything goes according to plan, will be a backup this year.
Here's another thing about building for this year versus the future that I never really see people mention or consider: If we DID decide "okay, we're playing for the future; we're not gonna burn all our cash reserves on 2026", it would put as at major risk of having a very rough season (i mean, our schedule is insane) in 2026, which would in turn put us in the position of having to desperately scramble to keep our roster together at the end of the year. The fact is that, with virtually unrestricted player movement, the only real way to build for a year or two down the line is to be good in the first place--because, if you're not, you're going to have a terrible time trying to keep your roster together (and also it's going to cost you more to bring new guys in). Hugh Freeze learned the hard way at auburn what happens when you try to pinpoint a year in the future and push specifically towards that year. Kiffin seems (rightfully, imo) determined not to make the same mistake. And, anyway, the flip-side is true as well: If we DO land seaton and princewill and roll into this season with an absolutely stacked roster and have a fantastic season and make the playoff, the ROI will be positive by a comfortable margin.

Get the two best you can find and let them compete.
If you’d rather pay - probably a a premium, since you’re asking them to compete - for two backups instead of paying a normal amount for one starter, then this would certainly be a great plan of action. Why would a good QB ( let alone two good QBs) go somewhere he’s not guaranteed a job when he could just as easily go somewhere comparable where he is? If your answer is “because he wouldn’t be able to get a starting job somewhere comparable”, then maybe ask yourself why you’d want him competing for the starting job here.
Absolutely hilarious listening to people say stuff like this every year.

Lmfao are you lacking blood flow to your brain or something? He was a true freshman starting in the second best conference in CFB for a team whose offense was coming off a year in which it averaged a grand total of 286 yards per game.
Obviously you shouldnt spend an irresponsible amount of money on someone you’re not confident in (though personally I’d be pretty confident in Bryce playing in a kiffin offense with our collection of skill-position talent), but anyone who says they “don’t want” underwood is a complete moron.
For fricks sake the better part of this website thought MVB was gonna be the savior halfway thru this year

Not when you can get 3 studs in the transfer portal
This is a super short-sighted and overly narrow perspective. It is true that in most years there are a decent number of solid WRs in the transfer portal, but the fact is that that's NOT a great way to find true gamechangers - certainly not an avenue you want to rely upon.
Here's a stat that illustrates what I'm talking about: In the NIL era--that is, the era in which the portal has existed in its current form--there have been 21 total WRs drafted in the first round. Of those 21, only *5* transferred at some point during their college career. That's 5 total guys in 4 years. And one of those was Travis Hunter, who followed his coach and was never actually on the "open market". So 16 of 20 is probably a more accurate figure. Basically, **80%** of future first-round WRs get locked up via HS recruiting.
ALSO: In the portal, if you want a no-doubt stud WR, it's going to cost you. Of the four first rounders who hit the open market, the only one who was an established star at the time he transferred was Jordan Addison, whose recruitment was very openly money-driven. The other three guys had a combined 2048 career receiving yards over 7 combined seasons--with 0 of those 7 seasons cracking 600 yards--at the time they transferred. There are plenty of portal receivers with production on or above that level who either turn out to just be average or don't pan out at all.
Bottom line: The portal should NOT be viewed as a substitute for HS recruiting at WR. It's too impactful of a position, and too few impact guys hit the portal. If you are looking for a third WR, or you're just looking to bring your WR room to "average" or "pretty good", then fine - the portal can get you there for sure. But if you want a true star WR, your HS recruiting better be on point.
