Does each conference have to ok transfers within the conference or does the NCAA waiver take precedence in allowing it? Thought I heard/read that the SEC office had not ok’d inter-conference transfers as of yet. Or until it benefits BAMA!!

The SEC hasn’t officially ruled whether players can transfer to another conference team using a one-time waiver for immediate eligibility. They can block it, which would force players to sit a year moving between teams. Personally, I hope the SEC does block this from happening to prevent the shite show that would certainly follow.

Absolutely.

Really hope this happens.

And I really hope Arik stays with the good guys. He's a freak talent and a huge asset to any team he chooses. Will be a 1st round draft pick in 2 years.

From all accounts he has never been abandoned by the staff. He has been in constant contact with them and they have been very supportive. He has a spot if he wants to come back. People around the program are hearing some talk that he could be leaning on doing just that. We’ll see.

I have no clue how they would administered. But, if true, his top 3 schools being all SEC schools even though the SEC hasn't given the ok for that to even be a thing would be even more evidence of a cover up in my opinion. At this point I'm just trying to make it all make sense. Especially with his mom involved. Most times once the parent steps in things start to get sorted out. Not this time. It's just gotten crazier and crazier since Ma Dukes joined the party.

No way. If the players and coaches are okay with it then go with it otherwise he doesn't deserve to come back to this team.

If so -- If I'm CEO, I tell the young guy "you start from the bottom and work your way up!"

Let him have Dorm Duty, Kitchen duty, whatever....

Needs his EGO "checked" before he gets back in the 2 Deep

A five star recruit like Gilbert , whose been a starter from day one is not going to sit out a year at another SEC school. Backups getting getting very limited playing time might do it, but not a kid like Gilbert. He probably heard news of having to sit a year. Add to that the excitement of LSU’s new OC.

She said in a recent podcast interview that she was surprised that Dabo didn’t give Gilbert any time of day. She said she thought, if he was going to give a transfer a look, that it would be him. Dabo made it clear he isn’t interested.

maybe Dabo saw he quit with 2 games left and doesn't want that type of player around?

Dabo has a strict no transfer rule. He may have taken some years ago, but he has drawn a line in the sand in recent years and I respect that.

You can love them or hate them, but Clemson has developed a culture that is admirable.

When is he going to make up his mind? School has started.

Has anyone ever considered that he was possibly dealing with something personally? Going out of state to college during a pandemic at 18 years old can be pretty damn tough on someone mentally......especially when you have a couple personal/family issues arise. Don’t jump all over a kid based on speculation. Get all the facts before you judge. I hope Gilbert can figure it all out soon. If his choice is to come back to LSU I will respect the hell out of him. Especially given how this fan base has reacted.

If I was betting, I’d say the summer

Stay taking online classes at LSU to remain eligible then decide after spring where he wants to be

Would he have sit out a year if he transfers? The rules keep changing.

Is he doing this? Is he enrolled at LSU for the spring semester?

Well it works good in the sorry arse ACC. Just how successful do you believe that philosophy would work in the SEC West >

Clemson pushes a “family” environment, real or fake.

Transfers are outsiders. From that standpoint, I understand.

Whether it would work elsewhere is unknown. But it doesn’t have to.
