It is a textbook example of how stupid Louisiana is
Louisiana politicians are sleeze. Last in everything and they're still not satisfied. They have to meddle in the one thing that most people from louisiana care about, and the one thing, that every now and then, actually puts Louisiana #1 in the country at something, If only for a moment. LSU athletics
I seriously doubt it. In his 2 offseasons here, JD5 went back to California to train with a guy there. That and the VR setup LSU had was the reason for it i believe.

His days in big louisiana politics are over if this hire ends in an unsavory fashion. I wouldn't vote for the dude again. The dude must have to pay someone to remove president trump's ball hair from his chin every morning. It's ridiculous how much he name drops trump

LSU would be very naive to wait on Lane. You give him a cutoff date, because if they don't and he decides to stay, then LSU is left standing there with their dicks in their hands, recruiting class and transfer portal would be a mess with only retreads left to choose from

Seriously, does it hurt to be this stupid?

Dude hasn't been a coach in college since the early 90s. The fact that people keep bringing him up anyway is annoying.
I just don't want a re-tread hire like James Franklin, Dan Mullen, Jimbo Fisher or Coach O. Find the guy who is hungry, who has mastry over either side of the ball and is consumed with winning. Not golf. A football version of Jay Johnson(like has been said many times on this board) Find that guy. He might not be the splashy hire and people might be upset at first, but Lanning wasn't a splashy hire. Neither was elko, but it seems it have worked well for Oregon and TAMU. Cignetti? I hadn't even heard of that cat before last year.

Saban is the ultimate smoke screen. The fact that he won his first title here and he's on record saying that he regrets leaving LSU, provides just enough believability to take minds off of the actual target.
Will we even have enough players to compete in one? If they're waiting until January to make a hire, we'll be lucky to have 39 scholarship players left wth the portal being open and the pre-bowl opt-outs

If you're going to go coordinator, Will Stein, Colin Klein and Brian Hartline are more intriguing to me.

we don’t have a coach lined up and could end up with a choice way down the line like we did with Miles, Orgeron, and Kelly.
I'm familiar with O and Kelly. Who passed on the job before Les took it?
No matter what, it’s not like he can’t always get the Arizona St job back. The only notable headcoach I can remember them having (aside from Herm) is Dennis Erickson(spelling?) however long ago that was

Nothing is done until he is standing in a suit at a podium in front of reporters
The fact that it's known he rathers the NFL over CFB makes it a complete non starter for me there, Tim. I don't want a coach who's looking to use the position as an audition for the NFL.
