Correct cause Miles was NEVER gonna be offered the Michigan job, contrary to what many think.
I am not a legal expert but think BK reps are asking the judge to make a decision on his “status” as LSU coach, for lack of the legal term. Has he been fired and if so with or without cause. Once the judge makes that determination they will decide how to proceed in negotiations or legal matters regarding the buyout.
He may have a separate contract with a private entity like TAF. That I am. It sure about. Since he is a state employee, the buyout funds would have to go through the LSU Foundation since BK is a state employee with a contract with LSU BOS. Paid by boosters as marked donations thru the Foundation. Not sure how all of that works but pretty sure the fired coach doesn’t get personal checks from the boosters.
Really?? So what are the sources of the “additional compensation” that are listed in his contract? Please list them in your next message.

So if the judge sides with BK, how will he get his money from the state? If Boosters/TAF want to pick it up great. But if they see they don’t have to cause legally it is a state issue, then he has to go through appropriations to attempt to get the judges settlement. If I am a big money donor, and see that I don’t have to put up 10 million and BK might not get ANY money of it defaults to the state after what he put us through for the last 3.5 yrs, then I’m taking that route 10/10 times.
The “additional compensation” and total terms of payment are in the contract with the LSU BOS, not TAF. LSU and TAF may have an agreement but does BK and TAF have a legal agreement?

Of state of Louisiana property?
And why is BK negotiating with SW and LSU if he has a buyout contract with TAF? If he does then what is all this issue about then?
So BK will only sure the BOS for 2.4 million then?
What I think will happen is there will be an employment contract with LSU BOS for the 400k base and a separate “additional compensation” contract with TAF in the fire that will have the buyout language. That way the private entity is on the hook for the buyout and the coach still has an enforceable contract in regards the buyout.
Ohio st, UGA, Clemson, Oregon didn’t even set their sights that high!! How did that work out for them??
Everyone agrees BUT wants the other guy to go first.
So the boosters would know the state would be on the hook and they would not have to pay 53 mill, you think they are gonna say “no, no we got this state of Louisiana . Thanks for offering tho”.

Correct. So more booster/TAF money to spend on new coach and players. A lot more.
Yes. But the end game is the settlement or full contract correct? If the judge says he was indeed fired with cause cause SW had no authors to do so, then I would assume BK will sure for the full amount no??
And who is gonna pay it? Let’s say the boosters refuse and so does TAF? The state right? So see the original post and let me know how a judgement would be paid is not thru appropriations.

The big name coach at Ole Miss everyone wants has won exactly what again? Big name days are gone my friend. Welcome to the new era of NIL.
You sure?? Then how are judgements for money handled by the state if money doesn’t have to be “appropriated” in the budget??

Sure because coaches hate money and huge NIL budgets and have zero ego right??
