Love what Wade is cooking. Still has some holes to fill.

Sergio de Larrea is still in the NBA draft as of today, and some say he could go late 1st round. He appears to be the best option right now. I think Ugo is servicable, but he will be the weak link if he ends up as the primary PG.

Agree he’s not a smooth guy but he’s got some good traits especially athletically. Madar’s floor game is solid and it looks like mechanically he’s fixed his shot but seems more comfortable shooting inside 20 feet. I think we’re fine with those two just wondering because it seems we’re overshooting the 7-8 man mark Wade had set earlier.

de Laurrea I would estimate at 25% he commits, 10% he makes it to campus. As we speak still no numbers discussed.

Call me crazy but I wouldn’t be totally shocked if Abdi Bashir is the starting PG game 1

I thought he was more of a set shooter SG type.

Not a set shooter just shoots a really high percentage. I’ve been watching some of their games and he has the ball a lot and a lot in the open court and he’s a really slick passer. I think Ugo works better as a 2 and with Wade’s history of using combo guys I could see it.

I’m gonna bet right now….. southeastern will have more guards this year. LSU will have about 4 or 5 forwards.

It's going to kill high school recruiting which is hard enough as is. If you're going to focus on euro guys and professionals, these kids have no chance and as time goes the talent pool is going to dwindle and force cessation. You're already seeing less and less kids playing youth football.

You don't think that's related to the increased focus in concussion problems?

Idk why you’re getting downvoted, you are correct. The transfer portal already takes the higher end college roster spots away from traditional HS recruits. A guy like Skylar Mays probably doesn’t get an LSU offer in 2026. Those guys are already getting pushed down to mid majors or lesser programs than that. Sure as they develop they can transfer up but their presence at mid majors pushes out even lesser recruits that would have had those spots. Add in professionals from Europe and now even more guys get pushed down and pushed out.

As long as it’s allowed, CWW is right to exploit the Euro pro loophole but in general the NCAA needs to fix it.

Once the 5 for 5 passes this should probably slow this down next season and forward.

I think you are seeing a more developed transfer portal market this season. I don't have the numbers but I bet more teams are retaining guys more than they had previously.

I expect you'll start seeing more guys sign a multi year NIL deal with colleges. Also if they were to set some kind of limit on transfers, hell if they just let them have two free transfers that would probably solve a lot of problems.

The melts I'm seeing on Reddit are glorious. We will definitely be the heels of the SEC.

SOS and Non-Conf Net Rankings ought to be greatly improved under CWW. He was really good at finding ways to play small schools that sneakily make your SOS better than just playing runts.
