I could also see Luis, Dessert, and Madar not being on next season's roster as well.
Oh I’m shocked to see this
Well, they could all be on the roster, or none of them could be on the roster. That's how a range of possibilities works.

I actually do not think the eligibility issue for most is what would worry the staff or why you continue to find the best 7-8 guys. There is so much time between now and the start of the season. I equate it to college baseball and loading up on top draft eligible high school prospects. Some won’t make it but if just 3-4 of this group does you have a really really special core.
Not only do the overseas guys see the value in a team like LSU a lot of them when they first started out in their professional careers as they moved up the tiers they bounced around to brand new wholly assembled squads for the potential to make it to the top tier. (not school won’t even pretend or keep the charade up).
I think especially the 4-5 guys that have either been drafted or could be picked up by an NBA team see it like that. They are going for 3 months to the states while gaining American experience, and get a big payday. Maybe they get called up right after to a G-League or 2 way contract or if they truly ball out a chance with an NBA team. Playing in a system like Wade’s that puts pros in the NBA/overseas on a consistent basis and runs sets and action that has a lot of familiar not only action but they know will help them. None of the guys listed with the exception of maybe Santos even if it goes terribly wrong at LSU and they do nothing it won’t affect them going right back to Europe at their age. Why I thought Montero was not a strong possibility unless you paid him almost second contract NBA money for one year.
PG de Larrea
Wing Bashir
Wing Luis Jr
F Graves
C Dessert
Bench (Really interchangeable pieces)
F Santos
Wing Niang
G Ugochukwu
G Madar
F Dioubate
Then have Nunez who has high level D-1 experience and some high school guys. Would be my dream construction if every little piece fell in and you have an expected Final Four contender on paper right there.

Luis played in zero G league games . If yall keep referencing bendiko who played in 67 g league games it’s like comparing apples to oranges. Madar has never played college basketball kinda like how we get 30 year old punters from Australia for football . And how we had a 22 year old freshman last year Ron zipper.

The eligibility concerns around Luis, Dessert, and Madar are significant. Also, Mo Dio was a Top 100 player last season and is an SR. He didn't come to BR to come off the bench. I also don't think LSU paid Niang the equivalent of a Top 5 portal player to come off the bench.
This is a safe bet:
Ugo
Bashir
Graves (least safe)
Niang
Mo Dio
Bench:
Santos
Others - International, Burks, etc.
That's a tournament team. Then, you step up from there if LSU can add de Larrea or get some questionable guys eligible. Mo Dio is also versatile enough to slide to the 3 if Graves stays in the draft, but Dessert gets eligible. Lots of possibilities, but I think Wade has LSU to a baseline of a tournament team, and things can only go up from there as players get sorted out.

Oh I agree don’t think for a second all make it to campus and play. But go get 2-3 extra so to speak. I really don’t think the wya Wade runs it and what others have done coming off the bench or anything will matter they are getting paid either way go play. Why I like having pros they don’t care about a bench.

The biggest thing is to find a legit starting PG. Ugo could be adequate, but an upgrade at PG takes this roster to the next level.

Agree again, and more moreimportantly if you bring over EUROs with little to zero American experience. Kinda why I think if somehow de Larrea could come he would be it. Divine would be a year 2 guy where I see him start for a whole year in the SEC get comfortable and then shine. I think Madar is more of a combo but wouldn’t want a talented group with him solely being the one and having to figure it all out because he would only be here for one year probably.

Montero is not coming. Graves leaning NBA. No feel for Burks, but some think he's a Graves back up plan.

The advanced analytics love him, and the NBA loves advanced analytics. I think he stays in and goes in the 1st rd. However, I'll keep him in my dream lineups for next season until he officially announces

I don't see ugo being the starting point.

At his age and amount of time invested in his journey would have been a huge risk to come over for one season of college ball. Also he is re-upping with his club on a 2-3 year deal.

One of the top western conference teams is in love with him apparently. Re Graves

Why go to the NBA when you can be a local legend at FRED'S

I'm at the point that I don't expect him, Luis or Montero to be on the roster next season. If any of them are, then we will just call it a pleasant surprise.
