Ole Miss Defeats LSU, 32-24, In Lane Kiffin's Return To Oxford

No. 8 Ole Miss defeated No. 7 LSU 32-24 on Saturday night at Vaught-Hemingway Stadium, handing Lane Kiffin his first loss of the season in his highly anticipated return to Oxford.

The Rebels jumped out to a 24-7 halftime lead before LSU rallied in the second half to tie the game at 24-24. However, Ole Miss quarterback Trinidad Chambliss scored the go-ahead touchdown in the fourth quarter to secure the victory.

Quarterback Trinidad Chambliss led the way for the Rebels, throwing for 363 yards and two touchdowns while adding the decisive 14-yard touchdown run with 6:14 remaining in the game. Ole Miss followed with a successful two-point conversion to take an eight-point lead.

LSU had one final opportunity to tie the game, but the Rebels' defense came up with a late interception to seal the victory.

The win improves Ole Miss to 3-0 overall and 1-0 in SEC play, while LSU drops to 2-1 and 0-1 in conference play.
