Can I get one of you LSU basketball aficionados to give me a way too early starting lineup for next season including heights?

Man if we get the French center when Kansas couldn’t that will be a melt for the Wade hate brigade
Don't know if it's official on dessert, but this would be huge. There is a lot of teams like north Carolina and Arkansas just to name a few that wants him. With wade as coach and the talent he is bringing in, I could see at minimum a sweat sixteen floor next year.
I haven't watched our basketball team that much in the past four years. And I thought there was no way we could get will wade back or even if he would want to come back. And he is only 43 years old. I don't see him going to another school to coach. And LSU knows what we have with him. Unless he really fricks up, he could be here 20 more years.

There are still a couple more dominoes yet to fall but it shouldn't be much longer on some.

Gun to my head guess:

I googled dessert LSU basketball and only two responses were him going to LSU.

That solves it. He’s going to UNC then.

I know he said 7-8 but I would prefer if you had a solid 9 so you have the depth needed in case you have a couple injuries
There are several on this board who claim injuries don't matter.

Good coaches MITIGATE the effect of injuries and still maximize the opportunity.
Coaches you support have excuses made for them by people like you who talk about coulda, woulda, should.
In my younger days, I was "excuse guy" with my teams. I am still POSITIVE we win the national title with Rudy 100% healthy in 1981.
But guess what? They don't postpone the game until you're healthy. You tee it up and play at the appointed time.
As Bill Parcells so eloquently stated: "you are what your record says you are."

He’s not going to be subbing me in to play in place of an injured player. He will still have serviceable options after the 7-8 core players. Marshall Graves being the example of that type of player.
A good coach can compensate for missing a player here and there by adjusting rotations and playing through different people. Injuries are a real problem if you have multiple core players at the same time. At that point, no matter the team depth you are holding on for dear life.
With a super heavy top 7-8, it allows you to play through different players any given night and play at a higher level even if you are a man down.

Things like this keep being said, but you really have to note where these teams are in their roster-building process. A guy LSU is recruiting to start and play heavy minutes could be recruited to other schools as a secondary backup player. It's just not always apples to apples

Arky isn't recruiting Dessert. Assuming they get both Meleek Thomas and Billy back they're only going after one more big and from what I've heard there's a 90 percent chance it'll be the Florida big Handgloton (sp) IF he can get his waiver approved. They're also looking at Luigi Suigo.

Dessert plus Mo Dio, Santos, Niang, Ugo, and Bashir would put them at 6. Graves plus another guard gets LSU to Wade's NIL target of 7-8.
What does this look like when it comes to NIL?
It has been posted in this thread that Ugo got $2 million (seems high to me, but we'll use that as a baseline).
It was speculated that Santos was relatively cheap and that he would come over for $1 million.
From there, everyone else is more expensive. So, maybe something like this:
Publicly Signed
Santos - $1
Ugo $2
Bashir $2.5
Mo Dio $3
Reported Signed Internationally
Niang $5 (reports as high as $7)
Dessert $3 (maybe more?)
Potential
Graves $4
Montero $4
That roster would likely be in the $24.5 million range. Maybe Wade got someone on a budget deal?
Given that, I wouldn't expect Montero, and it wouldn't be surprising if LSU only took one of Niang/Dessert. I actually think a Dessert & Burks combo would be better for this roster. They would be a cheaper and more experienced combo than Niang/Dessert.

Man completely agree.
When we add Wade I would make trips back home to games and didn’t miss the games in Athens. With MM it was brutal to watch how bad we sunk the program.
Yea I think as long as Heath is here Wade isn’t going anywhere. Also just like everything else LSU if you win more money floods in so we can pay him, he fits here and we are going to have that new arena. I don’t see him fitting at a blue blood and really coaches either retire or fired from here they don’t jump ship to other programs.

We're getting Niang and Dessert and both are starters. I think the either/or question is Graves or Burks.
It's being reported in Europe that the biggest clubs are going after Montero for over $3 million euro. Don't think that's happening for us. We already offered over $6 million and he doesn't seem interested. Starting PG is likely to be Yam Madar.

Have they made an actual ruling on the 5 for 5s for the current seniors or was that just a proposal? I know its likely to not happen but I just wonder how all that plays out.
If we can snag someone like a Jordan Pope or just another decent SEC level guard that changes a lot.
Also assuming this means guys like Mo D and Bashir will have the potential to play for us this year and next. Would be an added bonus for the 27 season.

I feel like this team is missing a couple of scorers at guard

Did we not get Bryce Dessert? I made a post about picking him up on the rant and it got whacked. Whats the update on him?

I haven’t seen anything official and if they left off this years they might get sued and their record in court has been bad.
Even if some of the losses were corrupt Mississippi judges. Who really actually hurt Trinidad by having him stay. He would be drafted higher this past draft than next year. Especially when he takes a step back without Kiffin.

May 22nd is the vote for 5 for 5 / age limit.
Going into effect immediately.
Not retro for players whose eligibilty was up end of 25-26 season.

I'm with you. 7 mil for Niang is nuts.
