There’s going to be a lot of disinformation in the next few weeks about McMahon being retained IMO which helps Will. If we are really going to land Will Wade, he still wants to make the NCAA tournament and win a game or 2. And the last thing he’s going to want is a loosely kept secret that he’s leaving NC State. So I’d bet we don’t even fire McMahon until NC State loses if we are that organized and this is truly done.

Worse than that. Oats feels sorry for us and gives over the top compliments to LSU postgame each time Alabama sleep walks to victory.

You are correct, and I can't tell if people are ignorant to the facts you laid out or for some reason BSing. Considering the money that's being shelled out over there this is peanuts. It would be insane to bring back Matt McMahon, and I trust there is no chance of that happening. Year 4 was already a slap in the face to LSU basketball fans. Year 5 would be confirming they don't give a damn, which I don't believe.

Last night should be it. Though I could see, if you have a handshake agreement in place with next year's coach, that coach preferring that LSU wait until March so he doesn't have to answer questions about it for as long as possible.

Look no further than Florida for what is attainable for LSU basketball. Just need the right guy. If there wasn't a totally pointless and wasteful federal investigation into college basketball recruiting, we may be there right now.

Why would he consider it? Money for one. An extremely close relationship with the University President for another. I don’t know if he’ll do it but it’s pretty obvious why he’d consider it.

Monthly payments through end of contract minus his future earnings. Not gonna be that bad.
Anyone that thinks we aren’t going to do anything we can within reason to go get Will Wade isn’t paying attention.

We've been fed a bunch of lies about how poor Matt McMahon received no support for his basketball program and never had a chance to win. 3 of 4 seasons he signed a top 20-25 freshman class. 3 of 4 seasons he signed a top 15-20 transfer class. The results have been a complete joke. The End can't come soon enough.
Beard is a stone cold winner. However, he got a big raise from Ole Miss last offseason when Texas A&M was hunting for a coach. You’d have to pay a bunch of money. His salary is $5 million. Maybe he’d just rather coach at LSU but it won’t be cheap.

Do people realize coaches are allowed to hustle, develop relationships with donors and generate excitement/raise funds for the program and their players to go far above what the University pays out in rev share? That's where the money is going to come from. Not whether LSU puts $2 million or $4 million or whatever into the basketball roster.
