re: MBB Offseason '26 Transfer Portal / HS Tracker

The problem with the international players is the new age based eligibility. The clock starts on their 19th birthday now, so you won't really have 4 / 5 years of eligibility if you enter as a 22 year old freshman like Zipper.

Shea Dixon said it's the players waiting to announce and he thinks you'll get some clarification by tomorrow night on some guys. That's been said quite a few times though. Who knows what they're waiting on, but people who have a proven track record of being dependable have all been pretty consistent amongst each other this entire time. There are some things that are understandable, guys like Graves who are weighing the league vs returning to college. Is he the only guy like that they are chasing? It's been said there will be some international flare to the roster, and Wade has spent quite a bit of time recently out of the country, those guys aren't in a rush to announce. There's speculation (not necessarily an LSU thing, but in general) that some guys are waiting to finish their semester at their current school before announcing their next destination.
If players aren't verbalizing commitments, they are negotiating. Outside of truly decisional guys like Graves

Unless it’s Graves or international players, this statement makes zero sense
It's basically down to:
Top Transfer Players w/ Confirmed Contact
Paul Mcneil
Allen Graves
Secret Top Transfer Players
None - the last few out there are clearly targeting schools other than LSU
Next Tier Transfer Players w/ Confirmed Contact
Jaylen Curry
Abdi Bashir Jr
Jerald Colonel
Secret Next Tier Transfer Players
Most of these have committed, but there are more than enough for LSU to be targeting some of the remaining.
International
Most of the Top Tier are already accounted for. Maybe there are some under the radar ones that Wade likes?
High School Recruits
Most of the Top '26 prospects have already committed.
It's a numbers game, and the numbers are really starting to thin.
Wade could have easily signed a tournament team from the Portal using traditional methods. Why didn't he take this route? We'll never know, but Wade has a proven track record of building rosters. So, we wait.

Will Wade is going on Double Secret Probation

I have no info and just fully speculating, but some guys I am surprised we have not been linked to yet are Akai Fleming, who was a freshman guard at Georgia Tech this year and had a strong finish to the season. The obvious connection would be their HC joining Wade's staff but who knows if he was leaving anyways. The other would be Alex Constanza, who is a HS recruit who is fringe top 50 and just decommitted from Georgetown. NC state was heavily involved in his recruitment the first time around so you'd figure we would be involved. I agree its been weird and don't know why these guys would be "silent commits" but figure they might be some guys Wade is trying to add to this roster, as well as RJ hampton if he reclassifies

Interesting. That is how Wade landed Tremont Waters who got a release when Georgetown fired Patrick Ewing. Could history repeat itself?

Fleming certainly falls in that "Second Tier Transfer" batch that isn't currently signed. I guess one question would be, are these guys getting cheaper or more expensive as time goes on?

It's tough to tell cause you feel like with LSU having 1 player on the roster, guys could use that as leverage to drive their price up since we have to field a team somehow. But also as it gets later, more teams have their roster filled so maybe LSU could use that as leverage to drive the price down. But I'd be lying if I knew

Some of them maybe, but you can't say that definitively for all of them.

He thinks he’s not just as clueless as the optimists

There is almost ZERO CHANCE Wade has no plan, and we won't have a competitive roster on the floor in October.
He's been successful everywhere he's been, and that's unlikely to change, no matter how much these WDS figs are praying for it to happen.

Yea you can. Otherwise they would verbalize their commitment. Pretty black & white. This is NIL 101

Tigah, It really is alarming how charmin soft many of our fans are. They think Wade just went off to Bora Bora and is hanging out on the beach after getting the job. It’s really been quite laughable. I’ve enjoyed watching the pseudo panicking if I’m being honest.

I dont see alot of panicking, but rather alot of questions has to how he is going to pull 8-9 more quality players with whats left. Which is a fair question. And i say that as someone who is a suppeter of his, and someone who still thinks he may reel in a big fish or two

Apparently Wade is making it hard for Mcneil to stay home. Big offer on the table.

Nc state fans say LSU is offering McNeil 4 million. Apparently money is no problem. They’re very optimistic about our resources. I think I’ll start getting my LSU news there. They are nearly as negative as most of the posters here so you can hardly tell the difference

Players know the longer they hangout, the more they can drive up their price.
LSU knows they need two frontline guys, so they have to play. McNeil & Graves would be a nice start.

Don't be surprised to see one if not two 2027 HS guys re-class to '26.
