Why don't you just come out and say what you want to say and stop beating around the bush.

Just kidding, but yeah lot of insinuation with some of these posts, and it's really unnecessary to try to politicize this...

Please inform ME what Ole Miss did that LSU and Bama don't do. It's probably a case of those schools skirting the rules, while Ole Miss and Southern Lab went full retard.

The whole deal was an evolution of mistakes really. A few years ago Corey Brownfield, Marcus' best friend, was hired as recruiting coordinator at Southern Lab. That was his freaking job title! It was probably on paper to recruit for academics, etc, but c'mon-we know what time do day it is. Since then, the director of Southern Lab was let go because Southern Lab is a political hot box if there ever was one, and Corry still had the same job with an impressive salary so continued to do the same thing. Well, the new Director came in and accused Corey of just getting a bunch of athletes, not scholars, blah, blah, blah, so they had a falling out. He let Corey go, and since that director has been let go and Herman Brister, Jr took over there. Marcus probably had very little to do with it although it did "go on under his watch". But the intial allegations stem back to when Corey was still there doing the job he was basically hired to do. Marcus is a good guy and a clean guy and it's unfortunate it happened to him. Corey is a good too that probably just got a little over ambitious at a job he was hired to do.

From what I understand, money that was supposed to be used for kids tuition wasnt actually making it to the school. Apparently when someone started auditing the books, there were some players that were at the school that never had any tuition payments.

Its one thing to give "scholarships" or "tuition assistance" for athletes like other schools do, but the donors that give money expect it to actually be used for the right reasons. This looks like its going to be a much bigger issue than high school eligibility.

You will never see this happen to a public school. LHSAA will always look the other way. This is rampant at most of the city pubics and no one seems to care.

no one seems to care bc they're not filled with 4 and 5 star recruits... Unfair or not, winning state puts a microscope on you

I'm asking, not surreptitiously stating, I need a memory refresher:

Wasn't there some smoke about this (or similar) back during the Chris Allen recruitment?

For starters, they dont charge tuition...so the BIG part of this is not applicable to private schools

He was thinking about winning. I'd probably do the same thing. Just being honest.
