Good , but we’re still gonna have to outbid Texas. No way around it unless he really just wants to play at home, which could be part of it but I still think money is gonna be number 1 factor.

Apparently LSU’s offer now exceeds Texas’s. Couple that with the stay home appeal I don’t see how he doesn’t flip unless the kid has a loose screw

Its a verbal commitment. That means nothing in the world, but intention. He intends on going to Texas. Intentions van change. Nothing is set in stone unless its sealed with a signature. Then and only then is it a commitment.

Last-minute flips from verbal commitments have been around a lot longer than NIL. You are also behind.
In 2018, this WR, who was verbally committed to Kansas, flipped to LSU. I'm kind of glad he did.

It has happened almost as long as football has been in existence. We flipped Patrick Peterson late in the cycle, who was Patrick Johnson at the time. It seemed like Les Miles had a knack foe getting guys to flip. Of course they were getting paid to do so.

I feel like a lot of kids fall into this trap when going to wealthy out of state schools, when in reality that "business network" ain't going to give a frick about you if you're not one of the best players and definitely not once you leave Texas. LSU will always have a place for Easton even if he didn't live up to the hype.
