Makes sense to me. I can't commit to full keto. Not long term. I have no shortage of fats in my diet and stay lower carb than most but it's just not going to work for me.

7 pages of people saying that they eat either low carb high fat but not keto, keto, or bro diet which is still healthy compared to most normal people eating McDonald's or canes. Never seen a group disagree so much without really disagreeing.

Chicken, pork chops, ground beef, spinach, green beans, avocado, butter, peanut butter, almonds, cheese...and maybe sweet potato or rice. Just eat the shite and relax

Well, the title of the thread is asking if keto is best, not if other diets are better than the SAD.

One thing I've always said is that people take their diets pretty seriously

The keto people are getting almost as preachy as vegans

I'm just not sold on it as something that is necessary so why inconvenience myself?

There's going to be a lot of evidence uncovered in coming years that veggies aren't that great for you - and possibly actively bad.

You get a ton of flack from this because they can't think beyond what's been slobbered for the past 60 years. That just because we can eat mostly vegetables and be okay, doesn't mean we should, nor use it as the vehicle that is associated with health. You absolutely do not need to eat vegetables (or any other plant) to maintain health.

People need to start thinking outside the box.

Sure

But there is no reason to pretend that someone has some inferior diet if they include a moderate amount of vegetables

Compared to SAD, I'd agree. If we set a definition for moderate and compare that to a no vegetables, only animal kingdom diet - we just don't know based on studies because only one was ever done...in the late 20s. They came away fine and healthy. As did numerous populations throughout history. All I do is open eyes...and try and piss lsu777 off .

Is a typical preworkout an absolute no go on Keto? I know most are sweetened with sucralose and have a few carbs per serving. Even if I stay under my 25 net carbs or 50 total carbs for the day?

I can’t seem to find a clear answer.

I may try: coffee, brain octane oil, and exogenous ketones and see how that affects my workouts.

No we actually agree most of the time. I actually agree with you, diet should be meat of your choice and then veggies as a side to get full on. Atleast as an overall diet that is almost perfect for health.

Now when talking body comp I will never agree until science says otherwise is that keto Burns more fat than an iso caloric diet of equal calories because as of now science says keto doesn't do this. Oh and keto is not good for gaining muscle, I have explained why on here.

I am interested in this too. There is a product by Ketoperfect or something like that that is supposedly 100% OK but I have also read on other sites that most common preworkouts, like C4, generally don't knock people out.

Another question for the board that I have had. Will bulletproof coffee knock you out of a "fast"? I have read that anything over 25 or so calories will knock your body out of a fasted state, and bulletproof would definitely have much more than that. I am attempting to fast from dinner until after my lunch time workout the next day, trying to get the benefits of fasted exercise.

I am really just starting my attempt at healthier eating/lifestyle again. Gained over 50 pounds after dealing with foot issues for the last 5 years. Already down 18 or so within the first 4 weeks with low carb/keto. I know most of that is water/bloating but I am feeling better than I have in years.

My understanding is that essentially anything other than water will at least stir your metabolism - that is to say, I think just black coffee would also.

My lifts have been weak as shite. 2 or 3rd week eating under 50 total carbs shooting for 25 net.

1st week without preworkout. Might go get some for my lift on Saturday.
