My vote. F&M’s are solid late night when hammered as well.

Lot's of good recs in here. Will add.

Bulldog isn't too bad.

The Vintage has "AT2 fries" which are pretty damn good. Late night menu only.

Sometimes we share, sometimes I get it as my meal

A waitress there suggested cheese fries and an order of the hot tamales. Put the tamales on the fries and dip in the juice from the tamales, pretty incredible

Friend,

Cheese fries with tamales sounds great. Cheese fries go great with many foods. One of my favorite cheese fries recipes is the McDonald’s lump crab cheese fries

Beachcorner’s look good, but they need some chopped green onion to take this all the way.

OG Swamp Room were legit when they had the steak fries. I haven't been in a while but the new spot had went away from the steak fries the last time I went.

I also stopped ordering them when I learned that they put fries, cheese, then butter on top. The butter just melted in so you couldn't tell. Tasted divine, but seemed like overkill from a health standpoint.

Going back a while here, 80s. There was a spot on Carrollton near St Charles…O Henry’s? Had my first date there in high school. We split cheese fries and they were great. Or I was just really horny.

Friend,

When I was in middle school and I had a bright professional volleyball career awaiting me, a high school female on whom I had a crush, worked at that O’Henry’s. The food, largely, was terrible, though the cheese fries were decent. For several years, I convinced Mother to take me there for my birthday “because they are so kind to give free birthday steaks” was what I would tell her. It made my year when this blue eyed beauty would sing to me and then after take a picture with me. I still have those pictures and I will try to share them if I ever find them.

AT IIs was my first bartending job in 1981. A bbq burger, side of cheese fries and a Barq’s was my lunch. They grilled the patty, then soaked them in the bbq sauce, then quickly cooked on the grill before putting on the bun.
