Salt, pepper, garlic, smoked with oak. I was always partial to the pork/beef blend. Straight pork was great too. Best smoked sausage ever. Now, if my cousin would send some my way when he makes the next batch.... :cheers:...

There's only 5 or so restaurants in Lafayette that I keep in my rotation for dinner. Lunch, maybe more than 20. Why is dinner lacking? For one, I find a lot of the nicer restaurants following dated fads. Also, unimaginative, lazy food. Indifferent, at times inept service. Grocery store wine lists...

Not specifically food related, but, if I never hear of some chef "killing it"' or someone's meal being "on point", it will be too soon. And, don't get me started on "upscale southern or refined comfort food", which seems to be every new restaurant....

Lafayette' s strong game is lunch. Dinner, not so much. For my birthday, I'd want to go to Pamplona or Ruth's. Charley G's, Marcello's & Cafe Vermillionville would be runner-ups. Not a fan of Ruffino's, I'Monelli or Social....
