Cafe Amelie closed down. Sad to say.

Cane and Table is knocking it out of the park these days.

Love that place. Used to walk over when I lived by the bulldog.

Yeah, the courtyard was sort of the only point of the place. I had no idea they reopened elsewhere.

The moved into Petite Amalie, which was their coffee shop on the corner.

The courtyard was amazing, but inside the old one was pretty great too.

For informal eating with family & friends -
Breakfast/Brunch: Ruby Slipper Cafe
Lunch: Domilise's or Parkway for a great po-boy
Dinner: New Orleans Food & Spirits (gumbo is superb) or Salvo's if you want boiled seafood or another po-boy

It was absolute shite for many years but they've picked it up in the last year or so.

At Pêche a few weeks ago when this guy showed up. Nice enough guy to let my wife (no pics) take her picture with him.

Domilise’s is legit. Parkway is good, but the roast beef is bland and the crowds often result in a very long wait.

Some good ones I can think of:

Mr. B's
Katie's
Arnaud's
Parkway Bakery
Domilese
Redfish Grill
Cochon
GW Fins
Peche
Atchafalaya
Willa Jean
Le Petite Grocery
Rosedale
Boucherie

Actually never eaten at Clancy's but I may have to check it out since it was suggest a few times.

Not in the city but Franky and Johnny's next to the Huey P has the best po boy hands down. The rest of the food was good from what I remember as well.
