Will only need a cast net. No camo needed either. Lol
The ole Irish Channel Neighborhood FB page at it again. A place for leftists transplant complaints and political bickering.
We used to go in there durning the mid 90’s with our fake ID’s. I’m not sure we were ever carded though. It was just a place close to home where we could smoke cigs and drink cheap beer. We definitely were the only kids in there.

Is the Great Wall still across the street? RIP Vega tapas cafe.

Agreed, it is what it is. The quarter is a rat trap, can’t deny that. I did construction work in the quarter for about 10 years. I’ve seen just about all the things you can imagine.

I’ll still go for that burger and monsoon every once and blue moon.
No clue about this show, my 11 yo niece and her mom watch it. Should I be concerned? ??
Scored two upper GA tickets for Argentina/Algeria @ arrowhead for 500 a pop. Can’t find the GA sections in a seating map for the life of me. Assuming it’s standing with first come first serve seating.
That’s laf park metry brah. Ground zero for futball players.
Watch out for those off brand LED’s. 1 out of ten will crap out before you know it. Been there a few times, learned my lesson the hard way. Fool me twice…

There are some online cattle auction sites that sometimes have animals for sale due to the owners retirement in the surrounding area and states. Check them out.

re: Flooring

Lots of factors to consider here.

Do you need the demo done? What is the subsurface and want kind of condition is it in?

What kind of laminate? Floating or glue down? Reminder, the cheap stuff is cheap and will not hold up. If you plan on living here for years, spend the extra money on something decent.

Also, if you have shoe molding that will’most likely need to come off and be reevaluated. If the base molding was put on after the carpet, it might be elevated and the shoe won’t work. I’ve ran into this recently.

re: 1/2 ton truck vs 3/4 ton

Posted by PaBon on 10/17/25 at 11:11 pm to
Purchased a new 1/2 ton gasser in 22, upgraded from my old 3/4 diesel. Can’t be happier. It’s more comfortable than I could’ve imagined. We take it in road trips and long drives quite a bit.

I also tow a smaller skid steer on the highway and around town not so frequently, but it handles just fine. My trailer has great breaks, so I take advantage of that and keep my distance on long hauls.

My vote would be go with 1/2 ton and enjoy the comforts and maneuverability. Some of the 3/4 ton trucks I’ve been in recently are very nice, but not worth the extra price.

If you know what you want, just get a draftsman, otherwise spend the extra for an architect. Need to know want state and town you’re in for recs.

That’s the jist. There is a schedule posted on the CTC website. Swap meets, parades, all sorts of specialty car gatherings. If you’re into classic cars, it’s a pretty fun event. These people don’t mess around and bring classics from all over the states.

You can post up at a restaurant or bring some food out chairs and cooler and just camp out on hwy 90 and watch cars ride down the beach.

It’s on of the largest car gatherings you’ll ever see. I’d suggest bay St. Louis this weekend and just walk around if you want a lot of action. Pass Christian downtown if you want a more relaxed atmosphere, they opened the Pass Bungalows recently with some good food and drink options over there. Stop by Pass cigars and grabs some October fest beers and a smoke. Lots of outdoor seating to watch the old timers and there hunks of metal. Have fun.
I went to a diy pest control store and got a bottle of the Talstar. Forgot which one exactly but it works for almost a year before I need to reapply. Put in a cheap spray bottle and recommended dilution rates.
We used martins wine cellar, in new orleans. This was because they provided the bartenders for the event since the venue needed a licensed vendor to serve alcohol. Something to think about for liability as well.
I hunt there almost exclusively. What area are you looking at? It’s a hard hunt and the army corps has done quite a number on the access so the old maps are almost useless. I suggest scouting and talking to some other folks before you go. A lot of private land and leases got screwed, so you’ll need to keep your head in swivel if you roll the dice without scouting.

Remember no surface drives or large long tails. Bring a fishing pole too. Good luck!

Depends if it’s your forever home for now. I’d 100% splurge if so, life is short so make your space comfortable place that you enjoy.

That said, if it’s just a basic backyard, detached area you’re doing, a prefabbed would be nice if you can incorporate some hard scape and a couple other custom elements.

Either way, if you’re not handy, you’ll need an electrician and someone to put it together for you. Perhaps reach out to a smaller construction company and get a bid or two. You’ll need an open space in your panel for a circuit and a couple other things you might not be thinking about.

If you can’t find anyone, swing buy your local lumber yard with an inspiration pic and ask if they could recommend a guy to do this for you. You’ll get a couple contacts there.

Good luck and keep us posted.

re: air purifier recommendations, please

Posted by PaBon on 9/25/25 at 10:53 pm to
If it a “camp”, the simple solution would be to rig up a kitchen hood vent during a work weekend.

Probably would cost the same if not less to do this opposed to an air purifier. The filters on the good air purifiers are pricey btw.

re: Framing Wall Around Gas Heater

Posted by PaBon on 9/25/25 at 10:46 pm to
You’re fine. No need for anything othet then simple framing and drywall. A ceiling heater vent light combo would put off more heat than the secondary heat from that water heater. If you’re still concerned, you can add a simple small soffit vent to the cavity. You’re access panel will breath as well, it’s not air tight like an exterior door.
What a circus. Feel for this family.
