re: Popeye's worker " Don't ever order from here again"

This is modern fast food. It is not fast, it is not really cheap. If you are near a Rouse's, rotisserie chicken is $7/box and its' good. I do love Popeyes and a few others, but I'm really over "fast" food these days. Been to more than one that have employees sitting in back hiding rather than working.

I don't understand. You sound surprised?

Not make an order at 10 pm at Popeyes probably
That's like putting your hand on a hot stove. No scenario where it ends well.
Lesson learned for your kid.

Popeye's mobile orders in Louisiana must come through in hieroglyphics because every time someone in my family places an order in the app it's a shite show. They either can't find the order. Or they forget shite. Or we get told to pull up while car after car leaves the drive through
Sounds like you have a strong Popeyes for that to only happen with an app order. That happens to me at mine when I order at the drive thru speaker.

Pretty much this. Not sure why one would expect anything else from Popeyes

He said he's son arrived 11 minutes later.

Eaten the chicken. Then gone on the app and reported it and gotten another free meal.
Nope. If they hate having to work their regular hours that much, you won’t be eating what you think you’re eating.
Somebody stuck that drumstick up a filthy lady hole. The biscuit? - that’s not just butter. Red beans and rice? - there’s going to be a few “not beans” in there.
I’d report it and never eat at that location again.

My funniest Popeye's experience, I just wanted the sandwich, I order, I'm the only customer in or out, drive up to the window and pay. I wait a few minutes, the employee sticks his head out, asks me to back up and pull forward again to the window, huh? Sure, I do it.
I wait a few more and he sticks his head out and asks me to do it again, I say not until you tell me why. He tells me that they have to serve each car within so many minutes, this is to start his timer over.
For every system there is a bypass.

Be happy I got chicken and leave before I got hot grease thrown on me.

When you go to Popeyes, what you order doesn't matter all that much, you get the food that you deserve. Your son got what he deserved.

I would make sure the franchise owner finds out about this experience.
I know they suck in general, but this behavior is a little too much.

Nothing better than ordering a three piece spicy dark and instead get a 12 piece with large RBR and mashed potatoes
It’s literally gambling

I've given up on Popeyes. It's a great product, but a horribly managed business. Getting your order as you ordered it, with the chicken being well seasoned, hot and properly cooked, is about a 2 in 10 chance. There are too many other options that are good and also reliable.
My country club has a fried chicken night on Tuesdays. that is the same price and better quality chicken. I pretty much never get Popeyes now.

Not sure what I would advise my son do if that happened. I love Popeyes. I do not expect great service. Ours at 2020 S. Mason Rd., Katy is the best run Popeyes I've been to (the one in Sulphur, LA was also well run).
I have learned when ordering in person to follow the Popeyes' cadence.
1) Order, e.g., 5 piece
2) Pause.
3) Wait for them to ask if spicy or mild. Correct answer: spicy.
4) Pause
5) Wait for them ask for your side(s). Correct answer: red beans and rice.
6) Pause
7) Wait for them to ask for what you would like to drink. Correct answer: sweet tea.
This won't resolve all the operational issues entrenched in the Popeyes experience but it helps.

This is sound advice that also applies at Subway. When they ask what vegetables you want, don't bother saying more than one at a time, even if they ask "what else?" as soon as you say lettuce. You can say tomatoes, but it will be a waste of breath because they forget by the time they sprinkle the lettuce and will again ask, "What else?" fricking tomatoes, like I just said.
I've experimented and given three items "lettuce, tomatoes, and pickles," and they will invariably put on the lettuce and ask "What else?" If I ever find a Subway worker who can successfully place three items without a reminder, I will nominate them for employee of the month and a MacArthur Genius Grant.

Was the chicken hot? Was it tasty? Do you not have drinks at home?
Maybe it's something your son said? I usually get told, "have a blessed day".
