So, someone gave into that bullshite?
Unfortunately yes. Already had been a lot of promoting, advertising, etc.

Deeper than the grout lines on R2R counters.

I like Paula best when she is riding things.

I hope to never know the answer to that.

I told you about the stick of butter tip many years ago
I thought that "tip" was as old as the original recipe??
Could be but Martini didn't know about it.
I think most famous people are demanding and not so great to work with in the eyes of some of the peons who come into contact with them. When I become famous, I'll demand a private plane also. I don't want people bothering me in airports and in first class when I'm trying to enjoy an adult beverage.

While in law school at Tulane, my running buddy worked for Emeril at Commander's. He says Emeril is a complete tyrant.

How many other cooking shows are as unhealthy? Probably most of them. Even Bourdain talks about in his book that you think you are eating healthy but "I'm using butter and lots of it because that's what makes it good and you buy it."
It is not about Bourdain/no Bourdain, it is her form of cooking and promoting life long bad eating habits to make money and then profiting on the rebound when she finds herself, as an older fat tub of goo, with diabetes and who knows what else. I personally can't stand to hear her voice and never watch her show, butter-no butter, lard-no lard, 5 lbs of sugar-no sugar, taste good or not.

Probably why he's so successful. Sometimes, it takes that at points in your career.
I'm glad all cooking shows aren't all about healthy foods. If you don't like the style, don't watch. I didn't watch her much, but one day, I'm going to make and ingest that donut hamburger egg thing or at least part of one. I love donuts split in half, buttered and broiled. That was Monday morning breakfast with bacon when we were kids and a bacon sandwich with a little maple syrup on the bacon made with those toasted donut halves was divine. I do it once in a blue moon.
ETA: Just saw that Wally World and Caesar's have dropped her, too. This has really gone too far. It's downright silly at this point. I think I'll boycott all the people who dropped her. Well, I would if I went to those places.

If Paula was a dem, she would still have her job.

Back when Martha had her troubles, she shut down her online site.. No more of the old products.. that were actually very good. She basically disappeared for about a year, served her time and then came back more focused and refined.
With these low end markets dropping Paula Deen, she may want to examine Martha's approach.. and come back and knock em dead.

If you're down by Whole Foods, check out their bacon in the butcher shop. The bacon is smoked and sliced in-house.. very good stuff.. would be great on a sandwich with a little maple syrup.

So, now Target and Home Depot have dropped her and the diabetic drug has "suspended" their relationship with her. What I'd like to see is a sponsor with gonads large enough to announce they're keeping her because they're keeping it real.
Nice article here.

I'll repost what I posted in another thread about this topic
What gets lost in this outrage of Deen's "firing" is that this came out while she was being deposed. Her brother and she were being sued by a former employee for racism and sexual harassment.
Here's the accusations from that lawsuit:
She pretty much admitted this in the deposition
It's easy to see why the Food Network and her sponsors would drop her when she is on the verge of losing this lawsuit.
What gets lost in this outrage of Deen's "firing" is that this came out while she was being deposed. Her brother and she were being sued by a former employee for racism and sexual harassment.
Here's the accusations from that lawsuit:
quote:
In one alleged incident, Jackson states she asked Deen what servers should wear after being appointed to handle catering and staff for Hiers’ wedding in 2007. Deen responded, “Well what I would really like is a bunch of little n-----s to wear long-sleeve white shirts, black shorts and black bow ties, you know in the Shirley Temple days, they used to tap dance around.”
She pretty much admitted this in the deposition
quote:
In another incident outlined in the lawsuit, Jackson alleges Hiers stated that President Obama should be sent to the oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico so he could “n----r-rig it." He also allegedly printed out photos of women having sex with each other with a caption reading, “Why Gay Marriage Should Be Legal.”
It's easy to see why the Food Network and her sponsors would drop her when she is on the verge of losing this lawsuit.

She was fired for ratings drop before the incident. I posted it. I was right. It's in the Wall Street Journal.

People can "allege" all manner of things in lawsuits. Doesn't make them fact or proven. She denies using that word in the context of the wedding if you've read her depo. She said the men looked like very professional and experienced waiters at the restaurant at which she dined which is where she saw them dressed that way in the first place.
I don't get why the white plaintiff gets to bring a racial discrimination claim based on a single instance of using the N word by Paula. I believe she alleges Paula said it one time.
If Food Network dumped her solely for dropping ratings, that's another story.

No she didn't. I read the entire 149 page deposition. Did you? I try to not form opinions on a subject until I am fully knowledgeable about it. I knew I'd want to say my two cents on this subject, so I read the entire deposition.
