Food Network didn't waste any time taking her off the network. I checked at 4 to see if her show was coming on. They had 2 episodes of Pioneer Woman.

She's got the world's worst PR team.

This is bs. Took her off on Saturday and put giada in her place. Like others have said. U think the neely's never called a white person a honky or cracker? It is a double standard.

I'm seriously trying to get angry about that, but it's proving very difficult.

The biggest thing that irritates me about this whole thing is that the vast majority of people screaming she's a racist and incredibly upset have not read the actual testimony. They've only read this article or that article that obviously has bias.

Because she has a southern accent, and a really really thick one at that.

That in and of itself constitutes immediate guilt.

Exactly. I've read so many blogs from Yankee people that say they already think we are still living like it is pre-civil war in the south and this just proves it. Ugh.

This. The double standard is starting to make my blood boil.

The Network is likely taking the stance they did because advertisers threatened to pull out. This is about the money.

I'm not going to miss her show because I rarely watched it. She didn't annoy me so much as she does other people, though. I've used a few of her recipes before. I like her homemade corndogs. They were hit for a football watching party.

Her banana pudding is amazing. I would watch her more often than most other people on there. She'll be fine though. Not concerned about that. I'm more concerned about the idiots raising a big stink about it, without full knowledge of what happened. It is one reason why we have so many issues in this country.

I didn't read everything involved in this word for word, but isn't she being held in contempt for not turning over some videos of her doing some vile things with a chocolate eclair and dropping the f bomb or something like that?

Could be that the outtakes were going to show her IRL side and perhaps another accent and ruin her anyway. Network took the best reason to water the fire early on, perhaps.

I never liked Paula anyway...

Has Bourdain spoken about this yet?

yes

P-Dean's use of butter and the word "y'all" made her a fortune. Not since "bam" has there been a more catchy catch word than "y'all"...I still get goose bumps when I hear Emeril & P-Dean excite the audience with those words.

I think anyone who says the n-word is trashy and I'm black. It's like you're saying you want to smoke crack because crackheads get to do it. The question isn't if it's your right to be able to smoke crack. The question is why would you want to. Why would you want to do something that's trashy.

I'm not a Paula Deen fan but give her credit for being honest in a sworn deposition. She displays exponentially more character and integrity than her attackers who lambast the entire South as being racist, overweight and ignorant.

I agree with you Commandeaux that it's trashy for any of the derogatory terms listed. But it certainly is a different standard for a black person to say it versus a white person.
