Much ado bout nothing. She grew up in Georgia in the 1950's. Not saying its right, but it was a much different world back then.

Next they'll want her to pay reparations cause her 5th great grandfather had a 250 acre plantation with some indentured servants (I dont think we say the "S" word no more, unless you're Joe Biden)

Deen is an a-hole from square one. Ask around.

Who the hell would I ask that question? I don't know a single person who watches her.

I don't like her presentation, not upset she is off the air. It does seem like she is being overly punished but most of that makes economical sense for the parties involved.

She will get another shot and I still won't watch.

I don't hate her. Not sure why others would?

Because, in real life, she's awful to people? That's one reason. She hasn't done anything to me, personally, of course, but she's just terrible.

Awful in what way? How do you know this? Have you met her?

I just did a google search(regretably) and didn't see anything but this current controversy.

She appears to be a selfmade success. I thought we championed that, or did something change???

She just needs to shut up now. I'm sure her handlers are telling her to get all goofy and shite, but c'mon, biblical passeges?

Take the Obama road less travelled. Just shut up and go away for awhile and folks will forget about it.

Don't get all the outrage about this, I get you can't say stuff like this and still be on TV, but other than that who gives a frick, she made some racial remarks.

If she doesn't like black people than good for her, this is so little of a deal its laughable.

That's what gets me about all this.. That the media can take a non-issue, perform a witch hunt and ruin somebody's reputation and livelihood if they want to.

And then you have people like a poster on this board, that says "she's just terrible".. Doubtful that they guy knows her, knows anyone that worked for her or has any remote connection to her.. but just jump at the opportunity to get a lick in while a woman is having a hard time.. Good goin Ace.

I've been around her. Know people who have dealt with her extensively. Her trip to N.O. for a fundraiser a few years ago was a joke and abomination.

Laugh all you want. She was in town at the Super Dome and we had to deal with her for about half an hour when she arrived. Seemed like an eternity.

The event actually lost money on her part. She demanded a private jet at the last minute or, so she said, she wasn't coming.

And another thing about butter or whatever people complain about. If I put a stick of butter into a pound of red beans ( something I heard from Tom Fitzmorris years ago) and it makes them better- which it does, that pound of beans will serve what six-eight people? So my butter intake is a tablespoon or less per serving? The fumes I breath on I-10 daily are worse than that.

Whoa, brother Martini! I told you about the stick of butter tip many years ago. Fitz doesn't put butter in his. He might add some olive oil, but no stick of butter. Give credit for fatty foods where credit is due! And, I got it from our now mutual friends and passed it on!

I saw a little Paula on the Today Show. She's not doing herself too many favors. It appears she says one thing in the depo and another now, but it could have been miscontrued and it doesn't much matter to me. There are plenty of things people might have said or thought many years ago that aren't appropriate today. And, if the rap folks are going to say it all the time in their songs and make millions in sales, they all need to get over it. I'd bet the same people singing and buying that music are complaining.

I don't see or hear the men and women who were hired for the "Plantation Style Wedding" complaining. I'm assuming all of their pay checks were deposited appropriately and apparently haven't bounced..

As far as being demanding and hard to deal with, I would wager that while there are some self-made successful people who are nice and easy to get along with, the majority are very demanding, very hard working and have very high expectations, much to the consternation of their employees. This is not particularly egregious.

I thought that "tip" was as old as the original recipe??

I think Paula's main problem is she feels guilty for possibly hurting her childrens careers. She wants to fight for them but she needs to step away for a while. Nothing like another comeback story....

ETA: Wise, how deep is that well?
