Wonder where that man is today. I am surprised he has not been found and asked about his feelings. He could be a hero. Foor fella

Her cookbook was to come out in October and was #1 on Amazon. Now, her publisher says they aren't going to publish it. It was a book of lighter versions of her recipes.

JC Penney and Sears are no longer going to sell her stuff either.

Unbelievable how out of control this is.

I bet ebay sellers are going out and buying up her stuff. I like her wooden salt cellar. My Alton Brown cellar had a part come off.

My Alton Brown salt box was destroyed a few years ago. Dean and Deluca has a very nice one I've been using with a magnetic hinged top. About thirty bucks.

And I'd say yes it's out of control.

I'll look at the one you have before purchasing. I got the Alton one after you told me about it. Still works, but a part came off the side, so the glass slides around. It's gotten a lot of use, though.

The book publishing this surprises me. Just adds to the ridiculousness of it.

Again, I ask why the other food network chef with the DUI doesn't get the same treatment.

Cat Cora

I'm sure it is because she's a bean.

I've mentioned before how much I like the Paula Deen copper bottom, non stick pan. I ordered back-ups from Sears and received notification that they shipped. I'm relieved.

The issue with publishing and promotion of her materials is interesting. Hopefully she can arrange for independent publishing and sales distribution.

I remember back in the 80's when Joan Jett couldn't get a record deal and started her own Black Heart record label and her debut album "Bad Reputation" sold over a million copies.

Deen may seek the same type of promotions.. or she can pursue other avenues if she even wants to work in restaurants.

Whatever she does, if I were her, I'd get on a yacht and float around a while.. or buy a cabin in the woods, with no tv.

I agree, Wink. Cat Cora is still hanging around.

Apparently, Paula has cruises and the first one filled up. There were so many people wanting to go on that one that they added another one, but all these sponsors are dropping her. They could have turned this around and pointed out that she admitted to saying the N word and is sorry etc.... No gonads.

I am have been no fan of Paula or her food in the past, but seriously, all this nonsense really has me wanting to contribute to her wealth and purchase some of her books. Anybody know the least culinary offensive book of hers i can purchase?

Who'd have thought I would be rallying behind Paula Dean, but i seriously have had about as much of this dishonest uber self righteous PC nonsense as I can take YAWWWWWL.

I'd support her if she ran for Mayor of Port Allen.

I looked and apparently it doesn't come out till October. It's already #1 on Amazon. Maybe I'll preorder and do my part to tell them all to jamb it. If there's one sure fire way to stick it to the good high minded self righteous northeast blow hard, it's to show them that they just missed on on making money. That stings them worse than anything.

The publisher says they aren't publishing the book at all even though it was #1 on Amazon. The statement said they are returning money for the pre-orders. All I can think is that they got pressure from other clients to dump her. Who would dump a book already hanging at #1 on pre-orders?

Very dumb business people who don't deserve to be in business.

It's definitely odd, but this a Random House outfit and one would think they would make good business decisions. There must be something we don't know because that makes zero sense to me.
