Herbsaint but it would really depend on the occasion.

August or Herbsaint would be my choice for that occasion.

Also consider Coquette. It's a place I usually am down on, but I went again last night, and of the 6 or 7 times I've been it was phenomenally better than any other visit. Top 3 meal I've had in Nola this year.

With a slightly big group, I would suggest Herbsaint, Peche or Coquette.

August is more formal than the rest.

Lester Earl speaks the truth. Trash those other suggestions and do what the Nola folk do..

I had probably the best meal of my life at Coquette on Magazine. Have never had a bad experience at Herbsaint. La Petite Grocery very good, and their deserts are frickin astonishing.

For a special event like graduation? August or Commander's. It is your chance to go to a 5 star fine dining place.

Tough to beat August. I've never been to Herbsaint.

Glad to hear you had a good experience at Coquette--I've still got to make it there for dinner. Really enjoyed my brunch experiences there recently.
