I only buy convenience store chicken when I see a black lady back there making it. At that point I know it’s going to be seasoned correctly. Bonus points if she asks me if I need hot sauce. I don’t but she’s old school.

That's funny considering all the Triplet's Blue Store Chicken shops in Baton Rouge are Asian owned/operated/recipes.

Where is this? Serious question. I’m a connoisseur of dive food, and I need one of these.

Banks Meat Market in NOLA has a 32" shrimp poboy for $12.99.

There's also a Conoco gas station in Gretna that has one for $21.99.

Google Banks Meat Market. That's a nice looking poboy.

I’ve been on the KK train for the last 3 years. We own land and hunt in south Bienville parish and there is a KK there. I got hooked on it. Had some leftovers I brought home SX JD my wife would have me bring extra home when we came back from hunting.

Now we have a KK here in Homer and we stop by a couple times a month. Damn good chicken. And you can get a 25 piece box of big tenders for about $22. You can’t beat the chicken or price.

Nope, too salty. Otherwise I’d agree with you.

Popeyes GOAT when it’s not too greasy and they serve it to you in less than 30 minutes.

So once or twice a year.

Popeyes is disgusting.

And having to deal with their employees makes it worse.

KKC is amazing and you can’t even compare Popeyes shitty chicken to them.

think those old boys that started this are from south Louisiana?

Used to have some dealings with the owner twelve years ago. I believe he isn't a natural born citizen but his wife is from south Louisiana and it's all her recipes and he runs everything else.

KKC does have good chicken strips. But tap the brakes on the Popeyes comparison.

But it's gas station food... How am I supposed to change the deep-seeded belief that trashy ppl eat gas station food??

I hired this guy from upstate NY, he must have gained 20 lb in the first month down here, he said, "I don't know what the hell a boudin is, but it's balls are delicious". He had never seen gas station food before, other than hot dogs and crap, but he fell in love with it.

i can't eat fried chicken any longer, but there is nother wrong with gas station food.

Haha. Well, America disagrees with you big-time. Popeyes set the modern day record for same-store sales gains last year even in the pandemic and their CEO was named restaurant leader of the year this week. America loves that chicken from Popeyes. Though Krispy Krunchy is still one of my top fried chicken places.

Owner of KKC? He is from Lafayette and is 100% American.
