I really like both and I can’t agree that KKC is better.
But I’m strongly in the KKC is damn good camp. Belongs in the same sentence for sure.

It all depends on the location. The KKC locations that have it together kicks most all Popeyes asses. Now, there are some that do a terrible job and never change the grease or overcook the chicken. I have to admit, Popeyes stays pretty consistent. Okay chicken with a large side of bad attitude at the window.

You find the occasional that doesn't. Unfortunately, the Popeyes now is not the Popeyes that I encountered all those years ago. Great chicken, fantastic onion rings, corn on the cob. Can't get the ring or the corn anymore. Or even the Cajun rice for that matter.

KKC is the shite. People will knock it because it's from a gas station.
When it's fresh it blows popeyes out the water. But popeyes wins because the 3 peice spicy all dark with fries, mashed potatoes and an extra biscuit is undefeated. Yes I'll wait. Drop that shite.

I’ve been on the KKFC train for quite a while now. If you find a place that does it well as in doesn’t cook the chicken in the fish oil and changes the oil regularly and you can be there when the chicken is fresh it’s as good as the best fried chicken you’ll ever Buy in my opinion.
