Johnsonville Jalapeno Cheddar

Took my kids to a kid's birthday party this past weekend.
They had an adult food table.
Looked like typical hotdogs and chili spot with the fixings among other adult food items.
Made myself a chili dog with cheese and onions and what I thought was a hotdog.
Nope, it was a Johnsonville Jalepeno Cheddar Smoked Sausage. Holy hell.
I may never go back to hotdogs again.
I know these things have been around for a while but I had never had them.
Yes, I guess I am a fatty.

They are pretty great. For a mass produced grocery store brand Johnsonville puts out some good stuff, imo.

These make the best pigs in a blanket. I make them a lot.

I’ve kept them in freezer for years. Thaw a little then roll around in skillet for quick char and go crazy……..

they're tasty in a boil too.

I agree with you and others as it's good stuff.
When I can't find J'ville, I'll buy Opa which is out of Fredericksburg, TX. and a true smoked sausage

I do those with onions/peppers on my blackstone often. Butter toast the bun then add mayo and you have the best sausage dog you will ever eat.

You just get the Pillsbury crescent dough and wrap a cooked Johnsonville with it?

They use these in kolaches at the Mary Lee's by my house. Really good. I like all of Johnsonville's products. The Italian Sausage is surprisingly good.

Opa's green chile version is the shite, like it way better than jalapeno!

Those are absolutely fire. That being said, I love the andouille flavor for chili dogs more. They taste absolutely nothing like andouille is supposed to but it is perfect for a chili dog.

Love these. Haven't had the Johnsonville before.

This is what the donut place on the way to work uses in their kolaches. When I'm really committed to low carb, i'll roll one up in a low carb tortilla and add some extra cheese. It's not quite the same, but it scratches the itch.

That Opa Jalapeno & Cheddar is really good. Love to toss a few links on the smoker at the end of my brisket cooks.

If I was doing low carb I would have to eat like 2 packages of those a day
. I'm not even a big jalapeno fan but that and this are some of the best to me.

Where can you find these Opa J&C packs?

One of my favorites after having these and a few other flavors they make I never buy hotdogs anymore. Like Johnsonville better than the Eckrich brand sausages.

Probably delicious, but I can’t bring myself to buy a six-pack of sausages/weiners when buns are sold in eights.
