I love all Asian food too but I'd have to go with Filipino as the bottom feeder. Sorry to my Pinoy friends but good gosh that's one boring cuisine.

Absolutely love Thai food. I probably eat it 4 or more times per month. I'm a regular at Thai Pepper.

I really don't know what's oily, tastes funny, or is smelly about Red Curry Thai. Chicken in that spicy coconut milk?

I like Chinese but rarely eat it. Indian is probably my bottom tier but I actually quite like it.

I love it all but Thai and Indian are probably my favorites.

Yeah, I feel bad. I have comrades who love Thai food and we seem to get dragged to Thai places a lot. I have fellow travelers who are Thai and I just can't get into the food. Something about the oiliness and the seasoning and I think they don't spice chicken and pork well.

I like all Asian cuisines, but I typically judge a place by its fried rice for some reason.

The Thai places put some kind of spice on it that the others don't, and I love it.

Thai food is a little more hit or miss to me than some other Asian cuisines. But the Thai dishes I love, I really do love. I can go to a Chinese or Vietnamese restaurant and order just about anything on the menu and enjoy it. I'm way more selective at a Thai place.

I read years ago, the style of chinese food most people eat today came out of San Francisco back in the 70's and really isn't authentic at all. For the most part, we eat the Americanized version.

They say if you really want "authentic" restaurant chinese food, you have to make it yourself or go to new york. Which to me means, most people don't really like "authentic" Chinese food.

Friend of mine travels to China a few times a year for work and said if authentic Chinese food was served in America, nobody would eat it. What we get here is very Americanized.

From what I've gathered, most other Asian cuisines we get here are fairly authentic, but I haven't traveled to any of them to confirm.

Of course...it's just like any other cuisine from around the world that you find here in the states.

Main stream Americans aren't going to eat birds nest soup or balut. They want General Tso's and an egg roll.

You're not gonna find escamoles or huitlacoche at your local shitty Tex Mex joint. Americans want shite covered in cheese and chips & salsa.

Thai is kind of impervious to being "Americanized" (but some of their dishes make it onto Chinese Takeout menus in poor form), and good Thai is much harder to come by.

I can understand the reaction, but good Thai food is pretty amazing and anyone who likes complex food will enjoy it I'd think.

If you go for lunch at Thai Pepper it is super probable that we have been there at the same time.

I am not a curry (Indian or Thai) fan. Everything else is game on.
