If you’re looking for a good BBQ lunch, I’d probably time it to go to Pig & Pint in Jackson. If you’re running a little later and wanting a good steak 20 or 30 minutes before getting into the chaos of Oxford, check out The Enid Depot in Enid or The Kennel Club in Batesville. You’ll probably need get reservations, but both are top notch steak places.

Also, these would require you to turn on HWY 6 at Batesville to get to Oxford rather than HWY 7 north of Grenada. I’d do that anyway. It’s a 5 minute difference and that HWY 7 drive sucks dick.

Any good places to eat near Clarksdale (or West Helena), I'm planning on stopping there for some blues music on the way north.

I haven’t eaten there myself (yet), but Bogue Chitto Boys, off the Bogue Chitto exit between McComb and Brookhaven, gets rave reviews. Menu is readily available online. Here’s a short article about the place:

Coming home from Memphis a few months ago we stopped in Madison at a place called Georgia Blue and we enjoyed it.

Stone Pony and Yazoo Pass are good options. I haven't been to Abe's yet but heard good things. There is also Lena in Cleveland. I haven't been there either but it is supposedly a Top 10 pizza joint in the US.
