Staying at the Eliza Jane on Magazine this weekend for our 5th wedding anniversary. What are some suggestions on restaurants to eat at nearby?

Considering Brennan’s, Tableau, Galatoire’s so far.

Justine

ETA: at least walk in for a drink and check it out. Nothing particularly ’New Olreans’ about GW…it’s just a great restaurant that could be anywhere. Justine are the owners of La Petite Grocery and it’s rustic French cooking in a slick, kinda gay…beautiful restaurant, that’s hard to imagine anywhere else in the US but the French Quarter.

ETA2: read the reviews online, holy shite they’re hilarious. Apparently they judge you at the door and feed you horse food if you suck.

Bayona if you don't mind a short walk or drive towards the Quarter.

Hate to tell you, but you’re getting a bit of a late start. We are going to Nola this weekend as well, and most places we checked were already booked this weekend. I haven’t checked since last week though, so some spots may have opened up. And some places you can sit at the bar if you can find a spot.

You’re close to Peche, Carmo, and Cochon, which were all recommended to me. I’ve eaten at Cochon before and it’s great.

In addition to GW Finn's, close to the the FQ would recommend Maypop. Also, in the CBD try Peche.

Bayona. I wouldn’t go to Galatoire’s unless it’s for Friday lunch.

Mr B's Bistro is solid for lunch.

BBQ Shrimp, fried oysters, and fresh fish. Can't go wrong. Great Bloody Mary and milk punch too.

I’m confused.. have you actually eaten there? It’s a joke. Yes it’s cool decor or whatever but it’s embarrassingly obvious he gave up on trying to make it a serious restaurant a while ago and it subsists entirely on hipsters and instagrammers. The menu is a complete joke. It’s pared down to like 4 entrees and there’s nothing rustic or French about it. Maybe when it opened, but the food was really uneven. Now it does the bare minimum outside of some appetizers. The food isn’t terrible but it’s kind of an insulting operation at this point considering all the hoopla surrounding its opening.

Oh yea, I made fun of the deviled eggs on here last time I went:

Onion soup, burger, tartare…it’s all been good on my visits. Bar is a beautiful spot.

Would go to Restaurant Revolution if you are set on the FQ.

There are maybe 6-7 restaurants I would seek out in the FQ for a nice dinner & none of them are on your original list

Yeah, a few places I’ve called don’t have any available reservations.

Galatoire's is our go to place for celebrations. I like Brennan's. I had a nice lunch there on Easter Sunday. I would put them both way ahead of Tableau, which I also like.
