Well, Bass and Trout are 2 completely different things.

Speckled Trout are a saltwater fish. They are highly prized as table fare. Really clean, mild meat that’s perfect for frying or pan sautéing.

Bass are a freshwater fish and the answer to if they’re good to eat is “it depends”. Smaller bass caught in the brackish marshes in South Louisiana is really tasty. Larger bass from North Lousiana Lakes can have a muddy/fishy off flavor to them

Tuna and Salmon are probably the two most different meats when talking fish.

Bass and trout both are excellent table fare. Bassand small trout get fried. Bigger trout get almandine, foil pouch, or some other treatment.

They both are good. Trout is tastes very clean since they come out of a mountain stream except for sea trout, never ate one of those.

I guess he's talking about speckled trout or white trout. Which of course aren't true trout but are in the drum family.

Pan fried speckled trout is still the best fish I've ever eaten.

Bass and trout are both fine. Most of the trout I’ve had was rainbow trout. Yum.

My favorite is walleye, technically walleyed pike. I’ve had northern pike but it’s really bony and too much of a hassle so we used to throw them back.

I like a good tuna steak. I hate canned tuna (sorry, Charlie). I didn’t like smelt. I like sardines in some recipes but not right out of the can on pizza. Can’t do sardines out of a can. Wish I could.

Love everything else from salmon and swordfish to sunfish and bluegill.

I’ve never had herring or halibut (or sole or any other flatfish as far as I know) or monkfish. Or shark. I’d try any of them. Maybe not pickled herring. That doesn’t sound like something I’d like. But I’ve got no plans to travel to Norway anytime soon so that probably won’t come up.

I’ve eaten bass out of Toledo Bend and Sam Rayburn. They were excellent. Was it because they came from a deep reservoir instead of a
Pond?

Both are great.

I've only had a few trout, growing up here it was specks but they're amazing.

I have relatives in Pennsylvania and we went fishing there and caught a couple rainbow trout. That was a long time ago but I remember them being very good.
