Theo's is barely better than frozen pizza from the grocery.

I really like Theo's thin crust. I also like how they chop their veggies really small, find they use quality meats, and give you a ton of both on specialty pizzas. Never heard anyone complain ab the cheese. To each his own. I also enjoy the foldable crusts of tower and pizza delicious. It's a mood thing I guess

That and I went there after I had ordered a pizza to pick it up.

The lady said "your order isn't ready yet, it'll be about 20-30 minutes" I looked and they had only two boxes up and ready and a guy busy busting his arse making pizzas.
I had a drink and checked back 25 minutes later, after not being called. The lady hands me the two boxes that were sitting there the whole time.
I ask to see a manager, and was just given a "sorry"

So I took my cold pizzas and vowed never to return.

My vote is for Midway Pizza on Freret. It's Chicago style deep dish pizza

Hmmmmm, I may end up picking up a pie from Ancora. Can't go wrong, IMO.

btw, I think Theo's is fine for "everyday" pizza. Never had a problem really. But not in the same league as Ancora. Was just making sure there wasn't something I was overlooking.

They have the best crust and sauce is really good. I'm a huge fan of Ancora.

This is how I feel about Theo's. I don't go often, but it's not objectionable. It's just not as good as the initial pub it was getting. Still head and shoulders above Domino's, Pizza Hut, etc.

Ask the owners and they'll even admit it's not Chicago Style. They call it "New Orleans Style" deep dish which means that they don't want to put the time into making real Chicago Style.

eta: don't get me wrong: I enjoy their pizza. But it's not Chicago Style.

Never been better....

They're closed.

Didn't think anyone liked that place.

I swear, most pizza tastes the same to me.

Last I had was Pizzicare. Liked it.

I'm with you. Everyone does pizza differently, and I generally enjoy them all.

Theos thinner crust is good, but some times skimp toppings.

I like Pizzacaire, the best I've had recently.

Pie in the WHD makes a good pizza IMO. They are well put together & easy to eat, I like their ratios.

Rocky's was good when it first opened in the late 90s. Seemed to slip every year they were open, though, and by the time it shut down they were terrible.

Place has my vote for current worst pizza in town.

I really wish we had a genuine Chicago Style pizza offering somewhere.

Midway is just not good at all, though.
