My top suggestions would be Overpass Merchant or Elsie’s Plate and Pie. Both have unique menus, casual atmosphere, and damn good food.

Inga's subs on Brightside. Take it to El Cid and have a picnic lunch.

That's how I got my first wife to marry me.

Yep. Being that they are a pie place, you feel like you need to get a pie. But the sandwiches and even the red beans with fried chicken are killer.

Don't go there on a diet. Even the salads are massive.

Elsie's is great.

If you are up for a little drive Robertos River Road is
really good too.

If you go to Elsie's get the crawfish queso and pork skins app
