re: Teal Season Week upon us - DemTigers7

re: Sandy Hollow Dove Fields - DemTigers7
I went to the opening day at Sandy Hollow last year and the year before, plus some more trips to the WMA here and there. I did not go this year. I have never killed a ton of doves there. Always less than 5 per trip (total for our group). We never see any flying there. It has some weird open/clos...

re: Suggestions for smoking pulled pork and brisket - DemTigers7
I tried this recipe (see link below) out a couple weekends ago with a Boston Butt. Its super easy and very delicious. I agree with other posters in saying start with ribs/pork shoulder and then work your way to brisket. Get a feel for how the grill regulates temperature. https://www.youtube.com/...

re: Specklebelly and duck ideas - DemTigers7
My go to is to sous vide the duck/goose with satsuma or orange and your seasonings (salt, pepper, cayenne, and garlic powder). When you sous vide with the fruit, do not put the peel in with the meat. Only the "meat" of the satsuma/orange. Sous vide the duck to about 120, then sear in a hot cast iron ...

re: Benelli M4 questions - DemTigers7
If you want something for ducks or doves and want to stick to a benelli, then go with the M2 Field. You can snag it from 1000 to 1200 and then spend the rest of your budget on an AR-15. You can find deals for a solid AR around $500 and then put upgrades on it such as grips, scopes, etc. Just my ...

re: White Lake Conservation Area Rice Field Lottery Hunt Tomorrow - DemTigers7
Do not recall which number blind. From talking to the guys, all the blinds typically do well. This year (as most places) has been hit or miss all season. I agree it is not a great hunt, but the experience was great. Hunting on a Wednesday with my brother and getting to shoot some birds is great....

re: White Lake Conservation Area Rice Field Lottery Hunt Tomorrow - DemTigers7
*UPDATE* Just got back to the office. We killed 5 grey's and 3 spec's. It was super foggy this morning. If it wasn't for the fog, I think we would have done a ton better. Other two blinds didn't kill a bird. However, one of the other hunters mentioned this was the first year (in three years of goin...
