Very first thing I noticed was handwriting and correct grammar. Get a 9 year old today to write that same letter. Yeesh!

The story says her 16-year-old sister wrote it for her, because she didn’t know how to spell some of the words.
That's pretty cool, and amazing how quickly the finder and the girl's sister were reunited. It's a shame she is no longer here to see it.
Card in the mail and prayers sent. Class of '93.
And it's good for the day after, too - Monday!

It's the only time I go to Cane's, when they have a BOGO offer. It makes the price more acceptable.

Is it coincidence that the family of the head of the Chamber of Commerce happened to be the one that sold Meta the land?

Actually, the family sold the land to the state 20 years ago for mega economic development projects, and this is what came of it.

just a black dude saying it was the worst day ever for his family and he wouldn't be sending his kid back to the school...

It's a Catholic School. I can pretty much guarantee that kid won't be enrolled at that school anymore - and that's whether the parents wanted him there or not.

Wow!

I can’t believe Jeff screwed up like that!
And not one belt worn among them.
Back to Back to Back!

Geaux Bears!!
I’m confused as to why she wanted to deposit $150 and then get $75 back. Why not just deposit $75 in the first place?
Mike has lost some weight since 1982!

And that breaking the spear over his knee was awesome!

I just saw a group of 8 of them in the wild (Rincon de la Vieja National Park) in Costa Rica 2 weeks ago.

She was at the Texas Tech game and gave Mulkey a big, prolonged hug after the game and Mulkey chatted in her ear for a bit.

Except for creepy black Jesus on the ceiling

creepy

Maybe, if you don't appreciate Romanesque/Byzantine art and architecture. (Don't go to St. Ben's in Covington, either. It was painted by the same artist, Dom Gregory De Wit.)

black

It's not black. It's at most Arabic/N. African. Which, by the way, is what Jesus' color was. He certainly wouldn't have been European/American white.

You can see it here.

ceiling

It's not on the ceiling. It's in the apse. And it was modeled after the first pastor's (Msgr. Dominic Blasco) home church, the Cathedral in Cefalù, Sicily, which is mosaic and completed in the early 1200s.

You can view the apse of Cefalu's Cathedral here.

Downvote away, but it's still the most beautiful Catholic Church in B.R.

I've eaten it twice; once in Peru and once in Ecuador. It's honestly not bad.
The joke is, "tastes like chicken," but it truly does taste like roasted dark meat chicken.

I second Sacred Heart. Fr. Josh is excellent, and the Church is probably the most beautiful in Baton Rouge.
