Last minute relocation from OM to Kenner to avoid a nasty over hanging Water Oak

I had two dead water oaks in my backyard in OM. Took them down 2 months ago. If I had those up still I’d be gone.

I think so.

Can someone help me? I could not convince my kid to leave New Orleans. He lives 1/2 mile north of Loyola. I’m terrified and have no idea what to expect for that area. Kids are so hard headed.

He'll be fine may lose power but winds and flooding not an issue.

Know it well and I wouldn't be worried about that location.

He may call in a few days and ask to come home where you have power

Clear something up for me. Are the winds they talk about suface winds or flight level winds?

AP is reporting maximum sustained winds have increased to 155 MPH. This thing will be a category five on landfall.

We noped out of the north shore this morning when I saw the updates. Halfway to Jackson already, interstates are wide open if anyone wants one last chance to leave

I thought flipping my trampoline over would be good enough for Laura. Nope. Came home and it wasn’t in my yard. Asked all around my neighborhood so I could help move it from whoever’s yard it landed in. No luck. Never did find that trampoline.

The best was one of his live feed cameras caught a dude on cameron piroguing down 82 right after the eyewall.

Prayers sent for all you people in Louisiana.

I've been to Grand lsle and places around there on fishing trips, I've met some of you good people down there and had some great times. It brings tears to my eyes to know what's bearing down on places that hold a lot of good memories for me.

Hang in there and may God be with you.

Buoys are surface level. That post is about 750ft in the air, so not surface but not flight level.

It is usually stated if they are surface winds. They also have ways of extrapolating surface winds from the flight level wind readings.
