I would just go off grid and live off of the land. I've had enough of this world.

quote:Did you not carry your own work comp policy? Why not? Work comp does not exist for you? That’s simply not true at all.
I was injured on a job as a self employed contractor but being self employed as most do without workman's comp, kinda fricked monetary wise. Working on almost a year with no income, I am the only employee and workmans comp basically doesn't exist for us.
Is a bitch but thats how it can go. Just sharing for reference.
If you don’t have your own comp the contractor you were working for should have picked up your coverage. How did you get paid by the contractor? Cash? Did they not give you receipts for your pay? They would/should have reported that payroll to their comp carrier.
I don’t want to accuse you of being full of shite, but something is not adding up. I could be missing something in your story, but if it is as reported, you need to lawyer up before your claim prescribes. You have exactly 1 year to file your claim.
Or did you fail a drug test and the adjuster denied the claim? Did the accident not actually happen on the job?
ETA: What kind of work? In Louisiana?

IT work or something related to the environment. I’m
In sales and I enjoy the money, but it continues to amaze me that you can never make everyone happy. Meaning you can do 20 things that’s over and beyond for your clients and have 1 thing go sideways and they’ll remember this 1 thing.
Exhausting.

Well, I'm semi-retired, from IT amongst other things. Most small to mid size companies rely on Microsoft servers, they are expensive and difficult to maintain. I have installed many networks with another platform which is much easier and cheaper. If I went back to full time that is where I'd go.
