Really enjoyed this episode solely based on the fact it reminded me of so many random all nighters I've had. Only thing missing was walking out of the club/bar and being blinded by the morning sun.

Reminded me of the movie The Hangover.

I could see that but I got a much bigger After Hours vibe.

Never knew the bars in London closed at 11. That's bonkers. Guess you gotta start earlier.

One reason I likes it too. I did "allnighters" in NOLA every weekend for years in my younger days. If I would tell some of the stories, places or situations I ended up in nobody would believe me.

Every wake up in St Patrick's # 1?...I have.

What was the significance of the blue moon and keys over and over? Obvious symbolism, but what was the point of the symbolism?

Apparently there's a poem about a man under a blue moon whose keys set others free while he traps himself in the very settings he frees others from, unable to go home.

Which tracks with the events in the episode - everyone who hands Beard back his keys at some point has some kind of epiphany while Beard's key breaks off in the lock when he tries to go home. And ultimately he winds up back with Jane even though she's crazy and toxic, because he can't break out of that cycle.

Hafiz, a Sufi poet from the 14th century:

The small man
Builds cages for everyone
He
Knows.
While the sage,
Who has to duck his head
When the moon is low,
Keeps dropping keys all night long
For the
Beautiful
Rowdy
Prisoners.

Everytime someone picked up his keys, he helped them free themselves from their prison:

Crown and Stag boys: He dropped his keys in the bar after getting a beer from Mae. They picked them up and gave them to him. He then helped free them from their prison of feeling like they werent good enough to mix it up with the elite.

ETA: Red Dress lady picks up the keys and returns them to Beard as well. I assume her epiphany was that she needed to stop being with random men and move on to being a mother?

The Enormous dude: He picked up Beard's keys when he left them at the flat. He helped free him from his prison of rage and jealousy.

Finally, Beard broke his keys and making him unable to free himself from Jane

I was drinking but was the ending to the episode him walking into a random church, and attached to said church is a kind of church nightclub, and in that nightclub is his chick (because of course she's in there), who is now into him again?

While they were texting, she sent him a text in front of the neon cross outside the church. Thats why he recognized it and went in. While he was praying, he heard noises coming from that way and he put two and two together about her being at a club and the picture.

...and to think that this show is based off of an old Reebok commercial. The level of writing and character development is a welcome sight in a see of reality shows and cop dramas.

Finally got caught up. Can’t believe they went through with Sam and Rebecca smashing.

Sam the smooth talker getting that cougar poon. Still. Damn. He’s written as 21yr old and she’s got 20+ on him. That can’t last too long.

As for The Beard episode. I loved it. It was quirky and different from the usual style and it was nice to see a character centric episode of a supporting cast. Those dance moves, his con to get into the club, the slight riff on Three Musketeers Charlie Sheen scene and the meat head being a softie.

The new episode dropped early today.

And holy shite, between Scrubs and Ted Lasso, Bill Lawrence is so damn good at balancing comedy and serious elements in a show.

Damn good episode.

ETA: Also, I'm like 98.7% sure that Rupert is about to buy another club and hire Nate as manager.

Or sabotage Ted/Rebecca to get Nate hired.

I considered that too, but I think there was a reason Rupert said that his new wife was giving up her shares in Richmond.
